About the role:
The role is based in the Pune R&D Center, at SAS R&D Pune facility. The candidate will work as a technical writer to document products that cater to domains such as customer intelligence, retail, and banking.
As a technical writer, the candidate will be responsible for designing and developing information that describes the capabilities of SAS software and shows how to use the software to achieve business goals.
Here are the primary responsibilities of the role:
- Create deliverables that address the needs and preferences of the target audience for a given SAS product or offering.
- Follow company guidelines (such as those for Global English or Accessibility) to provide a good experience for all customers.
- Engage with the product development team and a senior technical writer to work on assigned documentation projects.

Essential Technology Experience:

Primary Responsibilities
- Design and develop deliverables in the form of product documentation as determined by the needs and preferences of the target audience.
- Develop clear, accurate and concise information, following all guidelines consistently and effectively. Guidelines include standard rules of grammar and usage as well as corporate guidelines in the form of content models, style guidelines, and editorial guidelines.
- Consult with a senior technical writer in the technical publications team and develop documentation based on the guidance provided.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Background and Experience
SAS is seeking an associate-level technical writer who has a completed a course in technical writing and has excellent written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in a communications field or a technical or quantitative field. Candidates with an experience of about a year in technical writing can be an added advantage.
As a technical writer, the candidate must demonstrate these capabilities:
- Design and develop information that describes the capabilities of SAS software and shows how to use the software to achieve business goals.
