SUMMARY OF THE POSITION  

ISG is a leading global technology research and advisory firm committed to helping corporations, public sector organizations, and service and technology providers achieve operational excellence and faster growth.

The Principle Software Engineer will bring 5-7 years of ServiceNow application development experience to produce an industry-leading IT advisory services platform that is reimaging the way large IT outsourcing contracts are established and governed.  The ISG platform features GovernX – the industry’s leading IT relationship management application which is built on the Now platform.

As part of the ISG software group, you’ll attend daily scrum, interact directly with business-oriented product owners around the world, learn cutting-edge development methodologies, and work with some of the brightest and dedicated people in India.  Principal Software Engineers often serve as technical leads for these agile teams sharing collaborative leadership with a business-oriented product owner.  Deep ServiceNow experience is a critical.

Must be a good team player, quick learner, constant innovator, and appreciate other team members who do the same.  Ability to collaborate and add positive energy to the development team is critical.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Be a role model for excellent software development skills and innovation in the ServiceNow platform.
2. Mentor junior members of the development team.
3. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high challenge environment
4. Participate in code reviews, agile scrum and retrospectives, ATF and other testing, and other best practices. 
5. Development of code to meet the design defined.
6. Responsible for developing the code in the standards defined.
7. Responsible for unit testing of the code.
8. Conduct proper impact analysis to understand each function’s scope and do proper unit testing once the code is integrated with the others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. BE/ B tech in computer science.  No extrapolations here!  Have the education to complement the talent you bring.
2. 5-7 years of ServiceNow development experience using JavaScript.
3. Mandatory Service Portal experience.
4. ServiceNow certifications in ITSM and related disciplines reflecting a dedication to becoming a technical expert.

 SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

1. Strong understanding of the Now platform including, ITSM, Angular, and OOP is critical.  Service Portal experience is mandatory.
2. Any API integration work with third party tool and Service Now is preferred.
3. Work experience in agile methodology is a strongly preferred.
4. Overall pace of work - fast-paced and deadline oriented.  Collaboration with stakeholders outside of the development team is critical.
