Position Summary:

The incumbent will lead/support the design and implementation of people strategies, across assigned business units, aligned with business strategy. As a member of the HR team, will need to effectively deploy our core HR processes at all levels. They also need to drive the creation of a strong interpersonal culture and be involved in country level projects/initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

-Develop understanding of strategic objectives & related people metrics

-Design/support and implement people strategy and initiatives in line with the divisional business strategy

-Implement various HR practices in the assigned business unit

-Mentor managers and employees on issues including application of HR practices.

-Provide data analytics to business leaders

-Encourage organizational change across assigned organization to drive initiatives

-Display a talent focused demeanour and build a strong talent pipeline and succession, bench strength within assigned units

Analyze HR metrics for assigned business groups to help managers arrive at appropriate people decisions; understand trends and proactively develop plans to address concerns through meaningful actions.

Engage with employees through 1:1 meetings, skip level interactions to proactively provide people inputs/solutions to leaders

Partner with managers & Talent Acquisition COE to drive recruitment efforts within established division guidelines

Participate in projects or initiatives with broader HR team to ensure consistent HR experience for all employees (i.e. roll out annual programs, new programs/policies, etc.)

Support and implement implementation of learning & development needs.

Collaborate with HR COEs to craft and implement need based interventions.

 

Qualifications and Requirements for role

Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree preferred

5-8 years of overall HR experience with ability to work in a large global matrix organization.

Demonstrate integrity in all business interactions and honors personal commitments

Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with multiple priorities and partners.

Ability to multi task and have a structured approach to handle complex situations

What will you do? Our HR GLDP enables participants to experience multiple rotation assignments over two years to provide a broad experience in different facets of HR while allowing for exposure to our core processes, technologies, and leaders. All HR GLDP rotations are onsite and each rotation is individually designed and determined through a combination of business priorities, previous experience, development needs, and individual interests which allows you to be located at any US Thermo Fisher Scientific location. The HR GLDP rotations expose program participants to diverse functional areas, business units, products/services, and regions. Additional learning opportunities support the accelerated nature of the program and will include: formal learning sessions; an Executive Mentor program; utilization of our Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodology; and a network of Leadership Development Program alumni across the organization. The Program Manager will partner with participants to align on post-program placement and identify positions where graduates will continue to hone critical Human Resource competencies.   Please Note: The HR GLDP is set to begin July 15, 2024 and individuals are responsible for finalizing housing and transportation prior to program commencement and across each rotation throughout the two (2) year program.   Rotations include exposure to: Talent Management Talent Acquisition Corporate Total Rewards Employee Relations   Through these rotation experiences, you will get exposure to our various field client groups, manufacturing plants, HR processes and systems, and senior leaders.  Opportunities to work on key HR strategic projects may also be available.     Relocation is required both during and after completion of the program. The HR GLDP affords participants an extraordinary opportunity to produce results, quickly gain credibility and develop a strong company network over two years. From a post-program placement perspective, participants will work with the Program Manager to identify HR positions in which to interview across the organization.   Location/Division Specific Information Participants will complete a two-year program consisting of three 8-month rotations which could include (but not limited to): Boston Metro area; Carlsbad, CA; or Pittsburgh, PA; etc. Geographic flexibility is required during the program and upon completion of the program. Relocation assistance is provided.   How will you get here? Graduate student completing a Master’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, MBA with a HR concentration, or similar degree with a graduation date between December 2023 and June 2024. 1+ years of work experience in Human Resources required. Desire for a career in Human Resources and being a Human Resources Business Partner. Results oriented and strong desire to get involved with day-to-day HR operations of the company. Ability to effectively interact with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization. Proven attention to detail and drive towards results. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence and strong executive presence.
