As a Senior Manager of HR Analytics & Insights, you will build and lead our HR Analytics strategy and deliver business critical insights to enable effective decision making across the entire employee lifecycle. Working in Analytics at Snowflake also means you will have the unique opportunity to partner with our world class Engineering & Product teams to help evolve our own Snowflake technology for HR professionals. This is a hybrid role - requiring you to be based in our San Mateo, CA or Dublin, CA office at least 3 days per week. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL: Lead, grow, and provide strategic direction for the HR Analytics team and function Plan & execute HR Analytics annual roadmap based on business needs and available resources Take an enterprise mindset, linking individual and team responsibilities with the broader organization’s goals and priorities; focus on outcomes that provide the most business value Identify and implement operational improvements to the project and development lifecycle – from demand intake thru deployment and ongoing maintenance/support. Act as the chief architect for our HR database in Snowflake Collaborate and form strong relationships with HR leadership to understand their goals and objectives Be objective and effectively communicate complex data insights in a clear and concise manner to drive understanding and guide strategic decision making Demonstrate good presentation skills by pairing sound analytics with storytelling Look for opportunities for continuous improvement; engage manager and peer group regularly for coaching, assistance, and advocacy, and look for opportunities to act as a peer mentor Support a team of talented data analysts in the following: Developing and executing SQL queries to extract and transform data from various sources Using data visualization tools and libraries to create compelling and insightful visualizations that effectively communicate HR metrics and trends Maintaining and optimizing our HR database within Snowflake – ensuring data integrity, security and adherence to data governance practices Partnering with HRIS and IT to manage the HR data infrastructure and ensure data governance, privacy, and consistency in the sharing of HR data to external business units Ensuring accuracy and reliability of our HR metrics Prioritizing their workload –ensuring day to day support and operations are appropriately balanced with strategic projects and initiatives Work in a player/coach capacity – willing and able to be hands-on when needed Partner with our Sales and Marketing teams to build a compelling Snow@Snow story and effectively tell that story in meetings with Snowflake customers Be a Snowflake champion internally – encouraging and driving a culture of data-driven decisions across the organization Develop collaborative and cross-functional relationships with the other data teams at Snowflake – to promote partnerships, data sharing, implement and adopt the newest Snowflake features and functionality Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in HR analytics, data visualization, and database management, specifically within our own product OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: 8+ years of experience in HR and People Analytics, Data Science, BI or other related disciplines 3+ years of people management experience Experience with workforce data analysis, HR metrics, and a strong understanding of HR practices and processes Experience acting as a strategic thought partner to teams; demonstrated ability to problem solve, think outside the box, and “connect the dots” by asking thought-provoking questions Strong analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations Technical Skills: Proficiency in developing and executing SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis Expertise in using data visualization tools and libraries (such as Tableau and Streamlit) to create impactful visualizations, dashboards, and reports Expertise in standard analysis and presentation software (Excel, PowerPoint) Experience with Snowflake, Python and Python-based data visualization libraries Experience with Github version control and DBT for efficient code management and data transformation workflows Familiarity with predictive analytics techniques and experience applying them to HR data Knowledge of and experience with Workday is a plus A customer service mindset and approach to supporting the business Ability to interact and influence leadership and cross functional partners Proven track record of strong leadership and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced, performance driven environment Cross-functional project management experience “Self-starter”; comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment; strong sense of ownership and responsibility Demonstrates strong attention to detail and emphasis on data integrity The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role: The estimated base salary range for this role is $191,000 - $273,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake’s bonus and equity plan. The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
