Function Description:
Support the audit and financial statement preparation process for various American Express International Legal entities.
Purpose of the Role:
Support the preparation of monthly /quarterly /annual Statutory and Regulatory returns and other adhoc reporting requirements.
Support implementation of Workiva Wdesk for statutory, regulatory and board reporting and work with the technologies team to resolve issues.
Responsibilities:
• Run HFM Consolidation for statutory, regulatory and board reporting and work with the technologies team to resolve issues, if any.
• Support preparation of US GAAP to local GAAP statutory adjustments.
• Preparation of audit schedules and responding to audit queries.
• Post journal entries and implement spreadsheet controls.
• Ensure effective controls and governance are adhered to.
Critical Factors to Success:
Coordinate with multiple teams across American Express to provide external audit support; including Global Accounting Reconciliations, Accounting and Payment Operations World Services and others.
Past Experience:
• Finance/ Accounting/ audit experience
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience
Academic Background:
CA Inter (Preferred) / Post-Graduate/ Graduate in Commerce from a recognized university.
Functional Skills:
• Must demonstrate personal accountability in ensuring all tasks and activities are carried out on time and in accordance with requirements.
• Demonstrate ability to operate in a large company matrix environment (if external candidate).
Technical Skills:
· Should have excellent Accounting and Finance knowledge.
· Should have good analytical skills.
Knowledge of Platforms:
• Knowledge of AXP Policies, Procedures and Systems.
• High proficiency in MS-Office applications, working knowledge of Workiva/Wdesk/Essbase/ Analytical software, Oracle etc.
