JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintaining SLA’s where practical and in the event that an SLA is not met, working to achieve the earliest resolution. 
  • Responsible for the technical task assignment into the RAN team to ensure test environment build and delivery. 
  • Act as a technical expert to a specific technology area, understanding how it impacts on other areas within the Test Facility and ensure that the knowledge accrued is documented, guiding and training other staff in their area of expertise. 
  • Develop additional areas of knowledge and expertise to widen the overall Test Facility understanding and how all technical components work together, being recognised as a technical expert in multiple areas. 
  • Work using agile processes and software engineering to implement changes in order to improve the process. Represent the team as part of agile squads. 

Skills Required

  • An in-depth knowledge is required in the operation of the RAN systems (Nokia or Ericsson eNB, gNB ) and associated OSS systems, and an overall general knowledge of IT & Networks.
  • Expert level relevant industry knowledge of RAN (4G, 5G) 
  • Expert knowledge of Ericsson or Nokia RAN Hardware and features.
  • Understand the detail of how a call is made and received over the network and the systems it touches.
  • Analysis of traces to determine compliance to 3GPP call flow. 
  • Very good knowledge of the Testing and Project Life-cycles and agile delivery
  • Operation & Maintenance of nodes and use of monitoring/call tracing systems for troubleshooting. (Such as TEMs, Xcal)
  • Good breadth of knowledge of other technical areas of work; e.g. Core, IP or VASI, Network Support, Facility Services. Experience with virtualised RAN an  advantage
