The Experience Design Director is a senior role for leaders with experience in communication and innovation. The Design Director ensures that all products and experiences are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards of quality. In addition to communicating a company's creative vision to design teams and partners, a design director oversees the entire design process and all-important technical decisions.

 

A Design Director may also be tasked with tracking timelines, managing budgets, and maintaining client relationships. They keep in touch with all team members and make sure that everyone has the resources and knowledge needed to succeed.

 

We are looking for a Design Director who can interpret our needs and client briefs and turn them into compelling creative solutions. Often working with deadlines while overseeing several projects, the design director must be an experienced manager of creative teams (including art directors, copywriters, content strategists, graphic artists, and designers). The Design Director must be a communicator, especially when it comes to relaying creative concepts to design teams and company partners. Experience in customer experience business will be an added advantage.

 

You will report to our Senior Director in Product Management.

 

Responsibilities

  • Distill abstract business concepts and client needs into elegant creative solutions.
  • Lead the creative vision and the standard of output across team members who work under them.
  • Pitch ideas and present the creative vision to clients, and to members of the creative team.
  • Manage the Design team, being involved in hiring, developing, and inspiring the creative team.
  • Ensure that all of our or our client's creative output/visuals are consistent with the brand.
  • Lead projects from conception to completion following deadlines.
  • Improve the UX Metrics . Define the UX road map along with technology leaders
  • Lead defining user flows, design concepts and detail design solutions.
  • Lead driving the approach for usability testing, analyzing results and extracting design recommendations
  • Understand and integrate analytics data into inform the strategy and design solution
  • Communicate design guidance, choices and direction to multiple partners using wire-frames, flow diagrams, rapid prototypes, or visual design mock-ups to help communicate and validate ideas
  • Strategize, Implement experience design across Mobile and Web
  • Build and implement scalable design vision and processes that integrate with existing product protocols.
  • Lead conducting user and market research, which includes heuristic analysis, competitive/market analysis, user/partner interviews, analytics assessment and the creation of personas/user journeys
  • Provide guidance and take ownership of conducting content audit, analysis and help define the navigation model and information architecture for complex solutions

Requirements

  • A degree in a visual or experiential design discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Fifteen or more years of experience as a senior-level designer. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience directing complex solutions for digital products. Operating in captive entities or customer experience space will be preferable.
  • Experience working with clients to understand detailed requirements and determine a plan to ensure they are met.
  • Management experience (including leadership, team-building, and delegation) leading a creative team.
  • Asolid grasp of art history, design history, photography and the visual arts, pop culture, and counterculture, fluency in current technology, and an understanding of the cultural climate of social tastes and current affairs.
  • Be excited about collaborating and communicating with teams and other partners through a distributed model to provide design solutions for approval.
  • Experience navigating software build-out and Agile methodology / workflow.
  • Have standard certifications and have a view of how to upskill the team.
  • Skills in conversational design and UX writing (along with Information architecture) will be an added advantage
