Job Description
Project Planning and Execution:
* Lead planning, setup, and commissioning of the greenfield / brownfield Module manufacturing facility
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
Revenue Generation:
* Develop and implement strategies to grow the business unit's revenue.
* Identify new revenue streams and market opportunities.
* Set and achieve revenue targets as mandated by the Management
Cost Control:
* Control and optimize operational costs and expenses within the business unit.
* Identify areas where cost-saving measures can be implemented without compromising quality or efficiency.
* Ensure cost effective sourcing strategies including vendor development both domestic and globally.
Profitability:
* Ensure the business unit operates profitably and Financial milestones are achieved within the defined time frame
* Monitor profit margins and implement strategies to improve profitability.
* Assess the financial impact of various business decisions.
Production Management:
* Oversee and manage the manufacturing processes to achieve high-quality wind turbines.
* Establish and maintain production schedules, ensuring timely delivery.
Technology and Innovation:
* Facilitate and steer TOT with global partners, clients and vendors.
* Stay updated on the latest advancements in Module Manufacturing sector and technology and integrate innovation
into manufacturing processes.
* Collaborate with R&D teams for continuous product improvement.
Capacity Augmentation:
* Develop strategies for capacity expansion and backward integration into Module manufacturing.
* Drive initiatives to increase production capacity and efficiency.
Production Management:
* Oversee and manage the production processes to meet quality, cost, and production targets.
* Implement best practices in manufacturing and ensure highquality PV module production.
Contracting and Vendor Negotiations:
* Establish and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors for the procurement of raw materials and equipment.
* Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and cost-effectiveness.
Supply Chain Management:
* Capability to build strong vendor based both domestic and globally to ensure cost benefits.
* Develop and optimize the supply chain for efficient production and inventory management.
* Ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules.
Capital Expenditure (CapEx):
* Plan and prioritize capital expenditures, such as equipment purchases, facility upgrades, or technology investments.
* Assess the return on investment (ROI) for CapEx projects.
Risk Management:
* Identify financial risks that could affect the business unit's operations.
* Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Pricing Strategy:
* Determine pricing strategies for modules for both captive as well as external parties.
* Adjust pricing as needed to remain competitive and achieve revenue goals.
* Keep a tab on the Module prices including cost of raw material both in domestic and global market to have a command on our pricing.
Working Capital Management:
* Manage the working capital cycle, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory.
* Optimize working capital to free up cash for investment or debt reduction.
Forecasting and Planning:
* Develop financial forecasts and business plans for the business unit.
* Use forecasting to anticipate financial needs and challenges.
Financial Performance Evaluation:
* Continuously monitor and assess the financial performance of the business unit.
* Identify areas for improvement and growth opportunities
The Successful Applicant
Approximately 20 years of experience in manufacturing/operations, out of which atleast 8-10 years should have been in a "SOLAR MODULE MANUFACTURING" industry. The incumbent should have worked in the capacity of a BU Head/Head Manufacturing with P&L responsibility over the course of his/her career and should ideally be currently leading multiple plants/Single large unit in a techno-commercial capacity.
