Job Description

Reporting into the board member in India and managing a team of 14+ people, you will responsible for:

1. Overseeing the development of the legal and compliance strategy for them in India.
2. Liasioning with regulatory bodies and relevant third parties ensuring highest level of compliance
3. Provisioning of timely advice / guidance to the Indian leadership with the management of compliance processes applicable to them.
4. Ensuring business activities are conducted in conformity with all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and procedures
5. Ensuring local and foreign regulatory permissions for them remain current and appropriate for business needs.
6. Day to day management and ongoing development of the Compliance function
7. Continual compliance risk assessment of company practises together with the development of internal policies and procedures, compliance training and protocols.
8. Updating himself/herself of regulatory developments and industry initiatives and providing reporting with respect to regulatory requirements and developments
9. Presenting their India's viewpoint, interacting & influencing administrative bodies towards their cause, ensuring legal approvals/ registrations/ certifications etc so that timely completion of desired work can happen.
10. Preparing of compliance documentation with relative constitutive documents for statutory legal and regulatory purposes.
11. Managing Tax function which needs you to have knowledge on import exports, direct and indirect taxes and custom matters.

The Successful Applicant

Ideally you are LLB graduate with atleast 20 years of experience and has knowledge on Legal, Compliance and Taxation in a heavy import export business. You should be a great leader and must have handled a team in the legal function. You must understand Customs, Import export, transfer pricing and indirect taxations. You should have majorly worked in MNCs . You should be ready for your next assignment.
