JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join DESRI based at the firm’s office in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be part of DESRI’s Design and Engineering team and will regularly interact with the U.S. and Hyderabad-based teams, as well as external parties.

What you’ll do day-to-day

In this role, you will be working on the detailed PV plant design of utility-scale projects with a focus on detailed production optimization and analytics. You will be required to work on DC/MV/HV cable schedules, DC cable sizing, MV/HV cable sizing, voltage and power drop calculations, reactive power calculations, and capacitor bank calculations. You will be expected to provide relevant suggestions and inputs to optimize production by studying the layout. You will also be expected to simulate energy yield using PVSyst or similar tools, utilizing various combinations of plant components, and provide an analysis of the energy yield. Furthermore, you will have to analyze the impact of varied weather parameters and understand the impact of parameters such as topo, shading, and constraints while estimating the production.

Who we’re looking for

  • The candidate should have a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) in electrical engineering or a Master of Technology (M. Tech) in renewable/solar energy/power systems, with up to 2 years of experience in utility scale solar plant designing.
  • Candidate should possess sound knowledge of AC/DC electrical power systems.
  • Candidates with a good understanding of solar weather data analysis, data analytics and performance analytics skills, knowledge of IEC and NEC codes and standards, experience in the commissioning of solar plants, and field experience will have an added advantage.
  • The ideal candidate should have the ability to communicate conclusions via well-structured presentations and well-designed data visualizations.
