Airbus is looking for a Group Manager – DMU & PLM Data Services Group to join the Bangalore, India
location.
Group Manager - DMU & PLM Data Services is part of the Information Management (IM) function and is
responsible for the day to day management of the DMU & PLM Data Services team, which is providing
DMU & PLM Data Exposure Solutions and Services. Success of this position will require strong
international collaboration with global Airbus teams.
The successful candidate shall establish team goals by evaluating, identifying & understanding the
business strategy and technical trends as well. He/she shall accomplish the team results/performance by
communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, coaching and leading the team in the right
direction.
Responsibilities:
● Hold the full responsibility to lead DMU & PLM Data Services team in right direction to achieve the
success
● Manage and lead the team on day to day operational basis and drive continuous process
improvement
● Lead the team using a performance management and development process with the right training
program
● Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition, rewards, and disciplinary
action when it’s required
● Work with Human Resources Team to interview and recruit right team based on the business need
● Coach, mentor, provide oversight and direction to the team accordance with the organization's
policies and procedures
● Develop the team to take the delegation and empower them to take responsibility for their jobs and
goals
● Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with the overall organization's goal and
objectives
● Manage work timing schedules, job rotation and vacations of the team
● Maintain transparent and appropriate communication with the team
● Responsible to take business decisions in accordance with organization policies and procedures
● Responsible for overall budget management
● Experience in designing, integrating and managing IT solutions in Engineering & PLM domain
● Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new applications/Projects transition to
operations etc
● Ability to provide solutions, determine overall design direction and provide recommendations for
complex issues
● Awareness of the role of Information Management plays in enabling the business objectives to be met
● Act as operational focal point of agile & operations teams (ensure topics raised are taken and perform
the follow up)
● Perform operations review meetings (incidents, problems, requests, changes, action follow-up)
● Manage escalations and participate actively in escalation calls (PGGI, EWACS)
● Act as intercultural “bridge” between Europe and India
● Responsible to maintain the agreed SLA/OLAs
● Managing co-ordination of the partners and working groups engaged globally in projects
● Manage global communications and alignment with widely spread global stakeholders
● Take the accountability of developing and maintaining a detailed project plan
● Strong passion for technology, modern platform mind-set and solving customer problems
Qualification & Experience:
Graduate/Post Graduate with 10+ years of experience in developing, delivering & managing operations of
Engineering & PLM software applications
Expert level:
● Leadership skills & Project Management and People management
● Experience in setting-up & managing operations teams (Service Design, Transition, Operation & CSI)
● Business / affairs Management
● Ability to engage and motivate people
● Experience in building new teams, experience in defining the road maps in Engineering & PLM Digital
Capabilities domain
Intermediate level:
● Service Delivery Management of Engineering & PLM applications
● Knowledge on landscape of Engineering & PLM applications in Airbus.
Others:
● Knowledge of Aerospace domain, especially in managing operations of Engineering & PLM digital
applications in Products like DMU, PLM Data Exposure, Physical Design applications & Services
● Knowledge in any programming language like Java, DotNet and related frameworks, SQL & Web
Server technologies
● Knowledge in CI/CD & Data storage technologies
● Knowledge on Agile/ SAFe principle, managing Engineering/PLM applications development and
Services teams
● ITIL, PMP certification is highly desirable
● Quality management System awareness is desirable
● Capability to understand and deliver new business and customer requirements in the Digital domain
● Ability to shift between domains and multi-skills experience is highly desirable.
● Professional Networking skills
● Basic French & German knowledge is desirable
● Willingness to travel for long & short term to Europe
● Master Degree or certification in topics of the digital domain is desirable
