JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for an accounting and finance professional for our Financial Operations (FinOp) group based out of the firm’s office in Hyderabad, India. This group is responsible for legal entity bookkeeping, financial reporting and statutory compliance for the D. E. Shaw group’s Indian entities.

What you’ll do day-to-day

In this role, you’ll be required to liaise closely with other teams and vendors to obtain invoices and to resolve queries. You’ll be expected to communicate with multiple stakeholders and maintain documentation for internal and external audits. You’ll also be responsible for and be the primary point of contact for employee claims and will be required to share real time status update on claim applications. Additionally, you’ll be required to prepare and publish Bank Reconciliation Statements. You’ll also be required to process foreign payments and maintain month end accruals.

Who we’re looking for

  • The candidate should have a Master’s degree in Finance/CA-Semi Qualified, along with five to six years of work experience in the IT and IT Enabled Services, in an Indian accounting role
  • The ideal candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills as the role requires interactions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Candidate should have good knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations requirements
  • The candidate should be able to work with all stakeholders to maintain robust internal controls
  • The ideal candidate should also have willingness to learn and be a self-starter
