Department Summary

Payments Advisory is a client-facing, front-office function within J.P. Morgan Corporate & Investment Bank and sits at the nexus of cash management, liquidity finance, and working capital advisory. This team is mandated to win new business from existing and prospective clients across the Corporate, Commercial Bank and FI/NBFI segments. The team acts as a trusted partner to clients across multiple industries and partners with coverage bankers, sales managers, and product specialists to develop and pilot new value propositions aligned with our global Payments strategy. 

Position Summary

As part of the Payment Advisory team, the candidate will act as a SME in the Finance and Shared Service Center (SSC) domain and work with clients across Asia. The candidate will have deep understanding and working experience with financial Shared Services Centers (SSC). The candidate will possess prior experience in SSC Consulting / Process management with proven experience in advising CFOs, Treasurers, Finance Directors and SSC leadership.

The candidate will work with the Shared Services (SSC) ecosystem across the Asia Pacific region with specific focus on India. The candidate will be sharing best practices with Clients, conduct Finance process deep dives utilizing white boarding sessions, and building new client engagement frameworks and create thought leadership content for pitching JP Morgan solutions. The candidate will work closely with the Sales, Coverage and Product teams to support new sales, pipeline growth and portfolio targets. 

The position if open for Mumbai/ Bangalore location.

Job responsibilities:

  • Understand JPM Core cash, Trade and Merchant Services offerings in the region 
  • Advise CFOs, Treasurers, Finance Directors and SSC Leaders on diverse Strategic topics across the SSC journey
  • Responsible for working with broader JP Morgan team - bankers, product, sales and any other teams to create a be-spoke SSC client engagement strategy to steer mandates and pipeline in Asia
  • Leverage a differentiated client engagement approach by leveraging process discussions across Procure to pay, Order to cash, Record to report, Payroll and other SSC topics
  • Support Sales throughout the Sales cycle to steer client meetings and deep dive workshops with an aim to create a be-spoke JP Morgan solution
  • Keep track of emerging themes and build collaterals related to SSC best practices and industry themes. Leverage trends to position and present JPM value proposition to clients
  • Participate and present in Payment Leadership Series (PLS) and SSC marketing events organized by JPM across Asia
  • Provide coaching to internal staff (Bankers, Sales, CS and implementation) on SSC best practices and JPM Value proposition in addressing their cash management needs.
  • Ensure strong risk management, compliance and adherence to JP Morgan policies.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience in senior client stakeholder engagement (CFO, Treasurers, Finance Directors)
  • Prior SSC Consulting with process knowledge covering key SSC and Finance themes
  • Knowledge of key cash management offerings by Banks and their relevance to SSCs
  • Strong understanding of working capital management along with its key drivers
  • Extremely strong Program management and organization skills
  • Design thinking, process re-engineering and problem solving skills
  • Strong at influencing a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Strong inter-personal skills so that he/she instills confidence and trust
  • Ability to build a network and develop strong working relationships
  • Technically astute with experience in operations automation and data driven decision making projects (Big data, Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning etc.) 
  • Good understanding of ERP systems (eg. SAP, ORACLE etc), payment workflows and integration points with Banking Infrastructure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to work across teams and geographies
  • Hands on experience in setting up a Finance Shared Service organization (a plus)
  • Bachelor's / Master’s degree or equivalent professional certification in finance, accounting, or a related field (preferred)
