JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for resourceful candidates to join our Asset-Backed Securities team within our Financial Research group based in Bengaluru/Gurugram/Hyderabad. This group provides high-quality, in-depth support regarding new business development and strategy research to enhance the decision-making processes of the firm’s global Asset-Backed Securities team. The team has a mandate to generate new growth ideas for the D. E. Shaw group.

What you’ll do day-to-day

In this role, you will be involved in performing research by analyzing sector-related content and reports by leveraging various online and firm resources. You will be required to identify insights, perform deep dives by connecting research with market data, and analyze underlying and issuer-level performance using internal and industry tools as required. You will also be expected to contribute to all formal reports and processes that enable efficient and transparent oversight of the securitized portfolio. You will be required to develop knowledge of vendor resources and tools and conduct third-party research to aid in the analysis and evaluation of securitized products.

Who we’re looking for

  • A finance degree (MBA) or an equivalent qualification, along with 3-7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in the valuation of CRE properties and expertise in performing appraisals of commercial real estate holdings as well as portfolios.
  • Working knowledge of structured finance asset classes and willingness to expand skill sets into new sectors and products.
  • Excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively interact with trading desks and stakeholders.
  • The ability to lead a project while working independently with limited direction and guidance and being a good team player.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in financial content, sector research in commercial real estate, data analysis, and transformation will be an added advantage.
