Team: Airbus India - Methods and Tools 

Lead Engineer (Methods & Tools) 

About the team: 

Methods and Tools (M&T) is a transverse team working with different core engineering verticals in Airbus. The USP of this team is working in multi-functional environment providing digital solutions to engineering problems. 

The USP of the team is people with Core Engineering domain knowledge complemented by software development skills. The team plays an enabler role in various digitization initiatives across Airbus utilizing latest technologies and the domain knowledge they have. 

Some examples of the digital solutions for various Core Engineering departments such as Data driven designs of wiring, automated routing electrical harnesses, Data Analytics based product aimed at reducing physical tests of material specimens. It also involve developing web-based solutions to encapsulate and automate different workflows such flight test planning etc. In addition to these points, developing tools for Electrical Wiring Harness and Hydraulic Circuit design process improvements. Some of the tools developed; are used in the areas of Aircraft Safety analysis and Engineering Business Data monitoring etc. 

M&T is also deeply involved in Agile Scrum and SAFe in developing state of the art digital products for the areas mentioned above. 

Main activities: 

● Gather functional requirements and define technical architecture of a use case. 

● Understands the business context, requirements, objectives, expectations from the business teams and derive their actuals needs. 

● Break down major requirements in to small incremental value-add features and prioritize with stakeholders. 

● Provide technical solutions to business problems related to Aeropspace domain. 

● Interact with business team and Contribute towards systems and test projects. 

● Involve in Test Instrumentation Installation activities and Test Instrumentation Validation and Verification 

● Guide Engineers to take the right technical approach and remove technical blockers. 

● Understand the requirements and develop software specifications 

● Involve in Software development and ensure software quality through well-defined test plan. 

● Experienced in developing technical and functional code for the business requirements, including: 

● Front end development 

● Server side coding 

● Database design 

● Standalone / desktop / mobile application development 

● Produce necessary technical documentation as required by the software development process 

● Experienced in Agile way of working and be a practitioner of Agile Projects. 

● Good communication skills, be able to communicate independently with the customer as well as other

stakeholders in the project teams. 

● Handle project independently and Stakeholder management 

● Can work with Continuous integrated development / DevOps environment 

Qualifications and Technical skills: 

✔ Overall 8-10 years of industry experience in software development industry. 

✔ Expertise on GISEH. Hand-on experience for 4+ years.

✔ 4+ years of experience in product development background for OEMs / core engineering products. 

✔ 3+ years of experience in Test Instrumentation Installation and Test Instrumentation Validation and Verification. 

✔ Good understanding of any of these programming languages(Java,C#,Python).

 ✔ Expertise with at least one application framework,such as Spring,.NET,Django. 

✔ Familiarity with REST APIs concepts. 

✔ Ability to build interactive and efficient web applications in HTML,CSS and JavaScript. 

✔ Experience with modern UI Frameworks like Angular or React. 

✔ Good understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms. 

✔ Understanding of database technologies such as SQL/NoSQL and relational databases schema design. 

✔ Sound knowledge of Unit testing using any preferred frameworks. 

✔ Sound knowledge in Software design and design patterns. 

✔ Sound knowledge in Distributed system and Microservices(Web / Stand-alone). ✔ Very good analytical and reasoning skills. 

✔ Introduction to AWS or MS Azure (Nice to have). 

✔ Sound knowledge of Agile Scrum and SAFe 4.6 . 

✔ Good Understanding of CI/CD Pipeline. 

✔ Good interpersonal & communication skills.
