Job Description:
The R&T team is a part of the ‘stress and design’ group under Airframe department and plays a key role in demonstrating emerging technology readiness levels and developing innovative solutions for design and development of current and future aircraft programmes.
Job scope (core activities):
Propose and develop new kinematic mechanisms considering the design constraints, performance and business requirements
Understand the type of joints/connections required to be modelled for MBS using CAD data of the assembly (CATIA Product)
Understanding the tradeoff between the complexity of the MBS model and development time
Creating the hard points required for the joints/connections (for location, orientation) in CATIA
Creating stick models to understand the kinematics of the given mechanism
Creating MBS models including friction, contacts, springs, forces, constraints
Perform necessary pre-processing and post-processing steps for creating flexible bodies (mesh clean up, ASET nodes, interpret EIGEN values, MNF generation)
Clearance / clash prediction, DoE, Sensitivity Studies, Failure cases of the mechanism, Stiffness correlations between the Physical Test and MBS model
Determine the forces, torques, translational / angular displacements, range of motion using MBS
Correlate the results from the MBS model with the Physical Test results if necessary
Required Domain Expertise:
Basic knowledge of the aircraft architecture and flight loads
Good understanding of the movable mechanical systems in an aircraft (Doors, Landing Gears, Control Surfaces..etc)
Sound knowledge of the connections/kinematic joints and their DOFs, couplers, gear systems
Sound knowledge of the methodologies for the kinematic design of a mechanism
Hands on experience with design and analysis (kinematic, dynamic) of mechanisms
Good understanding of creating flexible bodies for MBS (SOL 103, MNF files)
Basic knowledge of meshing
Ability to understand and create/modify python scripts (OOP skills would be a plus)
Very good analytical and reasoning skills
Experience with co-simulation using MSC Adams would be a plus
Tools: MSC Adams, MSC SimXpert, CATIA, Hypermesh, Python
Qualification:
