We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI/ML Specialist to join our E-commerce Payments Org. As a member of our team you will be responsible for creating AI solutions that enhance payment experiences ~ for both buyers and sellers. You get to fuel the research on customer challenges at checkout and payments (also including Tax Collect & Remit). Understand customer needs and design payment solutions, possibly by their unique profile generated by the AI/ML models. As a senior hands-on individual contributor, you’re passionate about incremental model training, smart labeling, building models that operate at scale, entropy, F1 scores, multi-modal techniques.
Skills:
In-depth knowledge and hand-on experience with machine learning algorithms, model development steps, software architectures, libraries and frameworks to create AI solutions to solve business problems and achieve goals/KPIs
Strong mathematics skills, especially in statistics/data science, to create or select existing algorithms, select data sets for training
Proficiency in programming languages like Python and at least in one of the ML frameworks such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, Keraas and others. Experience with docker & kubernetes containers
Experience in Java based RESTful micro services pipelines that house ML models in inference mode
Effective oral and written communication skills to collaborate with others and write detailed, easy-to-read reports
Advanced analytical skills to analyze and interpret model impact on business metrics
Sound problem-solving skills to refine prototypes and troubleshoot performance issues
Experience with Deep Learning,TensorFlow, OpenAI & other latest industry trends
Phd/Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience in software with most recent experience in ML engineering involving model development and deployment using deep learning, computer vision, language models like eBert, chatGPT
10+ or more years of relevant industry experience, with 5+ years focussed in ML
2+ years of Experience in AI based chat engines and knowledge of key Industry trends and technologies in the chatbot space based on NLP & large language models (LLMs) or NLP
Hands-on experience in Java / Scala, RESTful Services, Design Patterns, Databases
Exposure to big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Flink, and Kafka - preferable but not essential
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team of AI/ML specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.
$168,400 - $262,900
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
