JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Duties: Analyze business problems, perform exploratory analysis, build data pipelines, and create models. Create simple web applications to surface results and turn analysis/insights/models into a product. Design experiments, develop optimization algorithms (batch and real-time) and develop/enhance image classification and feature extraction deep learning models. Work closely with eBay’s business partners and concisely communicate results, present findings, and translate findings into recommendations that drive actions. Promote the team’s understanding of underlying drivers of business outcomes and their relative levels of importance. Build and test data pipelines, adjusting as needed through reformulation of APls, and/or structured queries from SQL, and NoSQL databases. Streamline the model training process for use in complex regression and classification problem-solving.
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
Special Skill Requirements:
Programming skills such as Python, R or Matlab Database skill like SQL (Spark SQL) Machine learning tools such as GBM, logistic regression, or clustering, with tool-kits such as scikit-learn Deep learning, with tool-kits such as Tensorflow, or PyTorch Translate business problems into Machine Learning problems Graph/Network analysis Visualization tools such as ggplot, matplotlib, graphvi, Excel, Tableau or PPT Statistical inference such as a/b testing, hypothesis testing, or estimation Data Story telling Unix/Linux
Base Salary: $110,864-205,700 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
