JOB DESCRIPTION

eBay, Inc seeks Data Science – Analyst 4 in Bellevue, WA to perform measurement and optimization statistical reporting paid media products and trends by crafting and analyzing KPls to measure the efficiency of eBay's marketing campaigns and SEOs. Utilize findings to build and implement predictive models to help improve media targeting precision and causal inference. Perform exploratory analysis of large data sets to understand the product and business ecosystem, quantify new opportunities, identify upcoming challenges, and develop an analytical vision and roadmap for the team. Foster innovation through continuous evolution of analytical frameworks and data solutions. Build machine learning, predictive and explanatory models, causal inference and experimental design, and optimization of marketing performance of paid media. Design algorithmic solutions to reduce fraud, monitor our buyers and sellers, and intermediate payments to improve the overall eBay experience. Derive tactical and strategic insights to improve business strategies and accelerate channel growth. Present key findings based on qualitative and quantitative analysis to leadership and key stakeholders. Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed from a commutable distance.

 

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics or a closely related quantitative analytical field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Finance, Mathematics or closely related quantitative analytical field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

 

Special Skill Requirements:
(1) Building classification and regression models and hyper parameter optimization.

(2) Financial mathematics, budget allocation and ROI calculation.

(3) Python, R, and SQL.

(4) Experience with at least one common Big Data tools and services such as Hadoop, Spark, ZEUS, Amazon Redshift, or Microsoft COSMOS

(5) Time series and forecasting, distributions, hypothesis testing, experimentation and causal inference

(6) Bayesian Optimization or Convex Optimization


Base Salary: $174,117 - $262,900 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

 

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
