CommScope is hiring an IT Software Category Manager Global to be based out of México City.

The Category Manager is responsible for all aspects related to developing and implementing the global strategy for IT Software and Telecommunications with an estimated annual spend of approximately $65 million.

Responsibilities are considered integral to the success and profitability of the business. Continuous review and analysis of strategy is required to accommodate changes in market dynamics. This position is directly managing a large percentage of CommScope’s cost structure and is key to the success of CommScope.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Global sourcing strategies for specific categories of IT Software and Telecommunications spend aligned to Business Unit (BU) and/or Functional Unit needs – as a Category Manager.
  • Responsible for cost effective sourcing of IT Software and Telecommunications suppliers for specific Business Unit and/or Functional Unit needs. Act as the Domain Expert for the categories in scope.
  • Align with Business Unit and/or Functional Unit on specific goals and priorities in Regions. Drive continuous improvement actions in cost, quality, and system performance. Investigate all new developments relative to IT Software and Telecommunications and makes recommendations for cost reduction and improved quality/performance levels.
  • Establish creative and innovative supplier pricing schemes which helps improve savings for the category year over year.
  • Ensure the timely negotiation of all agreements included but not limited to Strategic Sourcing Agreements (including the development of framework for productivity and quality plans), Memorandums of Understanding, confidential disclosures, consignment, etc. Negotiate and handle supplier agreements, encouraging
  • compliance by both supplier and end users. Implement, supervise and provide feedback to suppliers on supplier key performance indicators to ensure suppliers are meeting the business requirements.
  • Lead through a sophisticated matrix environment across PLM, Ops, Engineering, Finance, Information Technology, Global Manufacturing, Quality, R&D and Legal
  • Responsible for leading Global cross-functional teams supporting BU/Category strategies and initiatives.
  • Must be knowledgeable about the aspects of CommScope's business and also of how software impacts product development and telecommunications affect the business.

Required Qualifications for Consideration

  • BS/BA in a related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, IT Hardware, IT Software, IT Services, Telecommunications, or related field required.
  • Must have successful and progressive procurement or category/supplier management experience.
  • Must have 2 years supplier negotiation and supplier contracting experience
  • Must have 2 years’ experience running RFXs with suppliers for stakeholders
  • Must have experience managing IT Hardware, IT Software, IT Services or Telecommunications as a category
  • Excellent English verbal and written skills required.
  • Must be skillful at influencing decisions and opinions, negotiating, and building consensus.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Must demonstrate inclusive behaviors and have strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships with people from all cultures.
  • Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results and to build and motivate teams of diverse disciplines required.
  • (International) travel required in this position
