Head of Ground Transportation Sales

Position Purpose Provide leadership to the Canadian ground transportation team, and other area sales verticals vertical sales teams as a solution subject matter expert in sales pursuits and solution creation. Responsible for the overall annual ground transportation budget, for Canada. Maintaining strong business relationships with Maersk’s strategic clients while offering logistics solutions that add value to the client’s business, managing client expectations, and delivering positive results to Maersk. Key Responsibilities Management of strategic initiatives for ground transportation. Sr. Level entry point to customer for all levels of the client organization Special Projects Migration of new integrated ground transportation clients Establish / maintain Critical Success Factors Drive improvement within the client’s organization Selling additional integrated logistics services including but not limited to: Intermodal: FTL & LTL Domestic & Cross Boarder Intermodal: Container haulage. Supply Chain Management & Value Added (VAS) services Transload / Warehousing Customs House Brokerage Insurance Monitor profitability Contract renewal negotiations Problem solving Sales Systems familiarity including Salesforce.com Special account handling when needed Handling general enquiries Liaise with Area Sales Management on strategic issues Travel with client when mutually beneficial Resolve large and/or complex issues/problems Communicate on many levels within the client’s organization, often from front line customer service people up to CEO level. Comply with all Federal, Provincial and Local legal requirements Maintain technical and professional proficiency Attend classes or educational workshops Review professional publications Performing other Job-related duties as required. Communication - Ability to convey, receive and share information to ensure mutual understanding internally and externally across all levels. Excellent negotiation, listening, probing and closing skills. Strong working knowledge of Salesforce.com and MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook), and an ability to quickly adapt and work with new software.
