Manager - Buying & Merchandising

About Team

Role:

  • Responsible for category planning and management, and driving business outcomes
  • A comprehensive role which involves all aspects of business – Operating plan development, financial planning, range planning, P&L management, inventory management and sales execution

Responsibilities:

  • Business planning and category management for a large portfolio
  • Annual Operating Plan (Revenue, Margin, Discounts, etc.)
  • Monthly Operating Plans
  • Category and brand specific growth plan
  • P&L planning at category, brand level
  • Range, Assortment and OTB Planning
  • Assortment Planning – Data Analysis, Insights Generation, Options Planning (Width, Depth)
  • OTB Planning at brand-category level, season planning
  • Range level planning support – bets sizing, inventory planning
  • Effective planning and forecasting in order to maximize profitability
  • Competition / Market Analysis
  • Sales and Inventory Management
  • Planning for the inventory flow / DOH for entire category
  • Category Health Management – STRs, DOH, Ageing, Portfolio Mix of Core / Fashion; Review and Course Corrections
  • Monthly Sales planning and execution – coordination with sales and marketing teams
  • P&L metrics tracking
  • Team / Stakeholder Management - Working closely with buying, sourcing, brand, sales and planning teams for delivery of business plans
  • Projects– Driving key initiatives / projects for category growth and profitability improvement across supply chain, planning, sales, etc.; Process Improvement across the value chain

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • 46 years of experience in category management;
  • Some experience in fashion retail / brand management sector is preferred
  • Strong business acumen with excellent analytical and problem solving skills; Strong with numbers and in collecting, analysing and interpreting data
  • MBA from a top tier institute
  • Strong experience and skills in cross functional stakeholder management
