Sr Manager Buying - Footwear Women’s
Role:
A comprehensive role which involves all aspects of buying and business – Busines Planning, Range planning, Financial Planning, Sales, Marketing and managing stakeholders
Responsibilities:
- Business planning and category management for the portfolio
- Annual Operating Plan (Revenue, Margin, Discounts, etc.
- Monthly Operating Plans
- Category / Product / brand specific growth plan
- Category / Assortment / Range Planning
- Developing product assortment strategy at a sub-category level
- Competition analysis to identify gaps and trends;
- Product range and width planning at product category level - # of SKUs, variants, etc.
- Effective planning and forecasting in order to achieve top line goals; OTB working with planning teams
- New Product Development & Projects
- Identifying new product opportunities and assessing commercial feasibility; Developing business plans
- Creating end to end project plans for new product developments / launches; Driving the project management across functions and stakeholders
- Coordinating with sourcing team / vendors / external stakeholders for new product development and launches
- Sales & Inventory Management
- Working with stakeholders with planning, pricing, retail category and central marketing teams for category promotions and sales achievement
- Planning for the inventory flow / DOH for entire category
- Category Health Management – STRs, DOH, Ageing, Portfolio Mix; Review and Course Corrections
- Creating promotion / marketing plans for new product launches; Coordinating with any external agencies as required for promotions
- P&L metrics tracking
- Team / Stakeholder Management - Working closely with sourcing / product development, category, sales and planning teams for delivery of business plans
- Projects– Driving key initiatives / projects for category growth and profitability improvement across planning, sales, product development, etc.; Process Improvement across the value chain
- 4-7 years of experience overall, with good exposure in Footwear
- Experience in at least one of relevant functions any industry in Footwear space - (in retail – category management and planning, brand development / brand management, product development roles)
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and trends
- E-commerce experience preferred
- Good analytical skills - collecting, analysing and interpreting data; Sound problem solving skills
