The Team: The Business Insights Analyst is part of the Customer, Analytics and Insights team and will work closely with internal team members and external stakeholders across S&P Market Intelligence (MI). S&P MI stakeholders primarily include Business Units (BU), Commercial/Sales, and Product teams. In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert for the organization on BU-specific new business, pricing and support recommendations regarding pricing models, strategy, optimization across our entire book of business (BoB), +30K customers, and $4.5B annual revenue. The Impact: The Business Insights Analyst will analyze complex data sets to help stakeholders manage their book of business and grow their market share by providing new business sales, competitive/optimized pricing, and retention management insights. What’s in it for you: This is a highly analytical role that requires the incumbent to consider data from multiple sources and develop complex new business/pricing models based on multiple inputs/variables (competitors, market, regional, industry, and customer-specific data). This individual will monitor KPI achievement and provide data integrity, analysis & reporting for key decision-making. Responsibilities: Analyze and synthesize quantitative (sales and usage data) and qualitative data to develop compelling new business/pricing strategies Partner with cross-functional stakeholders on the packaging and presentation of products to influence customers willingness to pay, drive cross-selling synergies and increase revenue opportunities Develop and maintain reporting tools (performance dashboards) that allow stakeholders to analyze and make informed/actionable decisions Develop single customer views by merging transactional data with usage and other customer-specific data points Improve model performance and processes through new data infrastructure or analytical techniques Evaluate KPIs (New Business, Pricing, Cancels) to track product performance and enable continuous improvements and monitor industry trends Basic Qualifications: B.Eng. /BS degree in finance, mathematics, statistics, economics, or related field Strong MS office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Power BI Experience working in a close-knit team environment and independently Take initiative, detail oriented, organized, and can manage multiple tasks in parallel Preferred qualifications: Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in market sizing and segmentation, ability to utilize quantitative and qualitative research methodologies to gather and analyze market data, trends, and competitive intelligence Ability to prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing findings, insights, and recommendations for stakeholders and present strategic recommendations based on market insights to support decision-making and drive new business initiatives Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to align market insights with business objectives and strategies. Experience in Python/R/SQL, familiarity with other IT tools like Snowflake
