Job Description

TMS Project DM should have the technical skills to lead the M&D solution delivery in the time, quality and budget required for the project, maintaining strong relationships with the Customer and GA Regional team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for TMS deliveries from the M&D COE to the GA Region SU team and Customer, as agreed during the tendering team’s handover.
  • Manage internal/external stakeholder communication and regular progress reporting.
  • Manage the on time, on budget project delivery, including quality and accuracy of all project related documentation, supported by the M&D COE TMS team.
  • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project.
  • DM will be supported by COE TMS Project Engineers and other subject matter experts in the region while executing the project, but he/she will have to support technical tasks as required. 
  • DM will be required to support cross functional activities as required, for example Tendering, Vendor Management, Manufacturing.
  • DM will be responsible to schedule, manage and host Customers during Factory Acceptance Testing.
  • Prepare and report Project KPI’s as required.
  • Display exemplary behaviours on Environment, Health & Safety [EHS]. To perform the preventive/corrective actions in collaboration with EHS teams to avoid accidents, incidents and environmental damages.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience/knowledge
  • 5+ years’ experience in Project delivery management or contract management
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing skills)

Essential Characteristics

  • Demonstrable evidence of successful project delivery.
  • Experience communicating and presenting project information to Customers, project teams & executive level stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Well organized and autonomous, with the ability to manage several projects concurrently.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Etc.)
  • Able to travel globally when required.

Desired Characteristics

  • Project delivery management within the Energy sector (Technical hardware delivery)
  • Prince2 / PMP Certified
  • Experience working in multi-cultural, globally dispersed teams.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization

This entails exploring through stakeholders’ needs through conducting meetings with relevant parties (clients, consultants, contractors and agencies), as well as doing the necessary follow-through research and analysis. Afterward, you’ll get down to the project’s nitty gritty—such as the corresponding contract, cost, schedule, and the health and safety requirements. And then you’ll proceed to creating the execution plan that ensures delivery of outputs to the stakeholders’ expectations. While formulating strategies that will lead to the project’s success, you’ll also closely manage the team and keep track of the project’s progress—from concept design, design development, construction documents, as-build drawings, and handing over of documents. Likewise, you’ll be expected to light the way during construction, and to review all pending issues with the project team. You’ll need to establish a dynamic environment that promotes the sharing of ideas and employee growth, and uphold the firm’s values and culture.  You’ll also take part in and make contributions to JLL Atlas. On a weekly basis, you’ll sit down with clients, consultants, contractors and agencies to review the progress of a project. You’ll also review project status reports during each operational phase, and hold a project control group meeting. Creating project monthly and weekly status reports as well as project risk register and HS reports is also on you. The MODEL and audit checklists should be your guidebook at all times. In the case of exceptions and remediations, you’ll need to report them, as necessary. As needed, you­­­­—together with the business development manager and other resources —will also prepare proposals, case studies, presentations and lessons learned.   Sound like you? To apply you need to be: Well-versed in project management You have a degree in architectural, civil engineering, or MEP engineering. If not, you have graduated with a degree in a related discipline, or a mix of formal education and work experience of more than eight years. At least seven years of previous work experience is required. A technical and admin pro You should be adept in using Microsoft tools such as MS Project, MS Excel, and/or other scheduling software. A good understanding of development management will also be indispensable to this role. Are you also familiar with the ins and outs of the government in terms of the architecture industry?
