Job description 

Key responsibilities

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for leading and/or supporting critical Insights projects that require the collection, cleansing, integration, and analysis of disparate and sometimes imperfect data to answer business questions and inform the business.  The selected candidate will define the need with stakeholder input, perform analyses with necessary input/collaboration as called for, and share results through dashboards, presentations, and other means in a consumable manner to technical as well as non-technical audiences.

  • Collaborate with marketing teams and business partners to understand their goals and objectives.
  • Determine optimal type and source of input data in consideration of data relevance and limitations.
  • Determine optimal methodology (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive) and apply necessary modeling and statistical analysis approaches/methodologies to generate results.
  • Translate data/analysis outcomes into insights connected to business problems or objectives.
  • Present and provide insights, implications, and recommendations to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Design and implement automated and actionable dashboards and reports to fulfill routine performance measurement needs across various product/market segments
  • Develop novel ways of integrating, mining and visualizing diverse, high dimensional and poorly curated data.
  • Collaborate within and across teams/organizations to implement and optimize data collection tags and analytics tools

Education/Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s) from an accredited institution in Computer Science, SW Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, IT/IMS, Statistics or other STEM field with a strong quantitative background

Experience/Skills

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in the analysis, modeling, and visualization of large, complex, and heterogeneous data sets
  • Working knowledge of data architecture principles and components
  • Experience with large data sets/ data warehouses, including the ability to extract data from data sets using advanced scripting or SQL
  • Proficiency in Data Visualization using Tableau, Power BI, Spotfire, or similar tools
  • Experience with ETL and/or data prep tools
  • Experience with Python, R, or SAS to help facilitate predictive analytics
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on design of experiments (A/B testing)
  • Strong communicator and experience using data to tell a story
  • Attention to detail and results oriented
  • Proven ability to take ownership and lead a project with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong written and verbal presentation

 Preferred:

  • Experience in medical diagnostics, pharmaceutical R&D, clinical development and/or healthcare
  • Experience with Databricks and/or PySpark
  • Expertise in advanced analytics and predictive modeling
  • Experience with data science techniques including mathematical and statistical analyses, modeling, and data visualization
