Job description 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with assigned marketing teams and business partners to understand their insight needs and translate into reporting/analysis solutions
  • Access, extract and curate relevant data for analysis and reporting
  • Determine optimal methodology (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive) and apply necessary modeling and statistical analysis approaches/methodologies to generate data results
  • Generate insights connecting analytical results with business problems or objectives.
  • Collaborate with data and ecosystem owners/SMEs across the organization to implement and optimize data collection tags and analytics tools
  • Design and implement automated and actionable dashboards and reports

 

Education/Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s) from an accredited institution in Computer Science, SW Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, IT/IMS, Statistics or other STEM field with a strong quantitative background

 

Experience/Skills

  • 4-6 years of hands-on experience in the analysis, modeling, and visualization of large, complex, and heterogeneous data set
  • Experience or knowledge of working with large data sets/ data warehouses, including the ability to extract data from data sets using advanced scripting or SQL
  • Experience or knowledge of Data Visualization using Tableau or similar tools
  • Experience or knowledge of ETL and/or data prep tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on design of experiments (A/B testing)
  • Strong communicator and experience using data to tell a story
  • Attention to detail and results oriented
  • Proven ability to take ownership and lead a project with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with strong written and verbal presentation

 

 Preferred

  • Experience in medical diagnostics, pharmaceutical R&D, clinical development and/or healthcare
  • Experience with Databricks and/or PySpark
  • Experience with Python, R, or SAS to help facilitate predictive analytics
  • Expertise in advanced analytics and predictive modeling
  • Experience with data science techniques including mathematical and statistical analyses, modeling, and data visualization

The data archive engineer will work with IT database professionals and with application groups to identify opportunities for archiving data from operational databases. Types of databases that are expected to be source of data are DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server, Sybase, Postgres and other relational databases on distributed systems. Archiving may also be required from nonrelational legacy databases. The data archive engineer will assist archive business analyst in preparing the business case for potential applications. The analyst will define the appropriate requirements and archiving strategy for each application. After an application is approved for implementation, the data archive engineer will identify operational data sources that will be used for acquiring data for the archive and associated metadata that describes the data. The data archive engineer will analyze the data and metadata to determine it's accuracy and completeness. Metadata will be enhanced to overcome shortcomings. The data engineer will design data structures that will be extracted for archiving and their archive representation. Policies for when to extract data and when to discard data from the archive will be developed. A storage policy will be created that considers long-term retention requirements, data loss protection and cost. The data engineer will be responsible for the proper scheduling and execution of database archiving tasks. The analyst will also provide assistance to users in developing access to information in the archive. This will include finding the relevant archive structures, interpreting the metadata, and possibly formulating access queries.
