Job Description

OpenShift Engineer

OpenShift Engineer to drive the digital transformation of the Global Compute and Collaboration (GCC) Organization. In this role, the OpenShift Engineer will contribute to the establishment and evolution of a Container framework to enhance infrastructure service delivery.

Work with a highly technical team for managing and deploying container environments. Hands-on engineer with operational management skills and experience on industry leading tools and platforms to create a seamless end-user-experience on Container/Kubernetes/OpenShift platform irrespective of underlying infrastructure or its integrations. The focus of this job will be to build upon and expand the role and capability of Containers in IT infrastructure management, using OpenShift Container Platform and modern DevSecOps tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, Ansible, Python, YAML, Blackduck, etc.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Influence culture change as our Compute and Collaboration teams adopt Agile software development methodologies and shift to incremental and iterative approaches based on agile principles.
  • Work with business stakeholders and IT teams to deliver digital solutions on OpenShift Container Platform
  • Operationalize infrastructure delivery and lead transformation initiatives involving containers.
  • Setting up OpenShift Clusters on physical and virtual machines
  • Using Operators
  • Setting up Services, Routes, Ingress
  • Setting up storage using CSI drivers, working with local, NFS, longhorn
  • Managing PV’s and PVC’s
  • Using Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Alert Manager
  • Data Protection and Recovery Management
  • Help GCC teams deliver top quality service in a timely fashion.
  • Partner with R&D teams to drive and move to OpenShift Platform to improve software developers’ build cycle – code, test, & deploy.
  • Establish a sustainable IT DevSecOps model by driving a mature solution architecture aligned with industry best practices.

Job Qualifications

 

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of OpenShift experience
  • 1+ years scripting/coding - Python,YAML, etc
  • 2+ years of Basic Linux or Windows system administration experience
  • 2+ years of experience with software development lifecycle: build, test, deploy and release management
  • Experience in Site Reliability Engineering
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs
  • Experience with DevSecOps tools
  • Expertise in infrastructure-as-code tools - Ansible, Terraform
  • Experience with containerization, e.g., Docker & Kubernetes. and server virtualization (VMware, KVM)

Bonus Skills:

  • Public Cloud services and deployments (AWS, Azure)
  • Computer networking
  • Software security
  • Understanding of Scrum

  • Ability to develop strong relationships with internal teammates and business partners
  • Strong communication skills required, along with an ability to manage, evaluate and prioritize workload to accommodate and align with business objectives, security concerns, and cost.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent

Job Description: The primary role will be to perform day-to-day ServiceNow design, consultation, and system configuration to support various ITSM processes. Areas of emphasis will include configuration related to Incident Management, Service Request, Change Management, Asset Mgmt, etc.., and liaising with ServiceNow.
