Job Description

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible to:

 

  1. Foster a vibrant and enjoyable work atmosphere to attract top software engineering talent, providing continuous guidance, advice, and mentorship to both managers and the team.
  2. Demonstrate a strong leadership focus on customer satisfaction and the delivery of exceptional software results.
  3. Collaborate closely with the Director of Engineering to champion agile methodologies, emphasizing iterative development, continuous improvement, and the rapid delivery of high-quality features.
  4. Promote cross-functional teamwork by working closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholder teams across different geographic locations to drive product innovation and align with customer needs.
  5. Conduct regular performance assessments, establish clear objectives for team members, and actively support their professional growth and development.
  6. Take an active role in recruitment, onboarding of new team members, and nurturing their professional development, while also identifying and mitigating potential project risks and using data-driven decision-making to enhance team performance and ensure consistency in sprint outcomes.

The Successful Applicant

An ideal candidate should have:

 

  1. Extensive background in software engineering, particularly in Java-based product development.
  2. Demonstrated leadership and management experience, preferably in an agile software development context, with a deep understanding of agile methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  3. A total of 10-15 years of professional experience, with a balanced combination of 5-10 years in software design and development, particularly in a JEE environment, and at least 5 years in leadership and team management roles.
  4. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, with a focus on scalable web application development, cross-platform integrations, API and RESTful web services design and development, and a background in mobile and responsive application management.
  5. Success in leading high-performance teams, achieving results through collaboration, and a proactive, independent work style, demonstrating ownership and adaptability in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating ideas clearly and persuasively to various stakeholder groups, strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, a customer-oriented focus on delivering a superior customer experience, and the ability to establish credibility and trust at all organizational levels.
