Summary

This position requires the collaboration with global customers and engineering groups to define and design custom hardware for semiconductor wafer test and package test applications for the High-Performance Products (HPP) Interface Solutions Group (ISG) Standard Products Engineering (SPE) group.  Utilize mechanical design skills to take parts from concept to fabrication and deployment.  Work closely with quality team members and field service engineers on RMA’s.  Provide analysis and feedback for customers through report generation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Create parts and assemblies in Solidworks using approved technologies and design practices.
• Accurate preparation of drawings, BOM’s, ECO’s and supporting documentation related to new design releases or updates by following approved company design standards and processes.
• Work with other engineers and departments as required to ensure proper implementation of products from conception through final assembly.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing groups both local and overseas
• Perform FEA for design validation and optimization using Ansys
• Provide customer support either directly or through Field Applications Engineers
• Investigate customer RMA’s through lab investigation and analysis with the ability to work out cost effective and timely solutions.
• Prepare reports for customers, including any supporting data gathered during investigation
• Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally

Education and Experience: 

• B.S. degree required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
• 0-3 years design for manufacturing experience
• Experience with Solidworks
• Experience with Ansys preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products
• Strong verbal and written communications skills; ability to communicate effectively with both domestic and foreign colleagues/suppliers
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of CNC fabrication techniques and methods
• Semiconductor/Electronics mechanical design experience is a plus
