Role Description:
As part of the process team, the Process Pipe Designer I contributes to the creation of design documents to support the DPS Design Deliverables Matrix. The Designer I will provide generalized design support, draft Process Flow Diagrams and 2D Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), annotate piping systems in both 2D and 3D environments, develop equipment blocks for use in a 3D model, route basic line types in 2D and 3D environments, and generate project drawings for review by Senior Pipe Designers. The Process Pipe Designer I works closely with the engineering team and more experienced designers for guidance and direction on day-to-day activities and other work packages. The Process Pipe Designer I must adapt at learning new software skills and develop strong desire to learn new concepts relating to piping design. The Process Pipe Designer I focuses on mastery of software used, 2D drafting techniques, and modeling process utility systems in a 3D environment.

Education/Experience: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability: Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Ability: Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
