As an Electrical Engineer I, you will perform the technical tasks required to process new escalator orders.  These tasks include interpreting customer and code requirements, providing approval documents, providing detail drawings for modified design requirements, generations of bill of material requirements, manufacturing support, and branch office support.  This position requires working in a team environment to provide a quality product and continually improve our processes.  The person filling this position will interface with Customer Service, Quality Assurance, Product Improvement, Manufacturing, Sales, Construction, and Purchasing personnel.

 

JOB DUTIES:

Perform technical reviews of escalator orders to ensure equipment estimated is compliant with equipment outlined in project scope documents.  Gather information required to clarify ambiguous points and coordinate all activity associated with (internal and external) customer driven changes.

Use computer aided drafting software to generate drawings for customer approval. Upon approval, or as changes to the project scope or job site conditions arrant, revise these drawings.

Create modified or custom designs, interface circuitry, and software of moderate complexity to satisfy customer requirements.  Perform and document calculations required for modified or customs designs.  Complete drawings used by manufacturing and construction personnel to build and assemble components.

Assist designers and drafters with design modification as required.

Provide compatibility checks to ensure that components (i.e., drive systems, safety monitoring devices, etc.) will interface correctly.  Provide supporting drawings as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Education:  Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or a Bachelor of Science with similar Engineering education preferred.  Personnel with an equivalent combination of education and previous work experience will be considered.

 

Experience:  1-3 years related work experience typical.

Ability to develop software and edit ladder logic.

Working knowledge of computer-aided drafting (AutoCAD) and personal computer-based systems (MS Office Suite)

Read architectural blueprints and specifications and correctly interpret them.

Reasoning development necessary to:

a. Apply principals of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

b. Interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.

c. Deal with several theoretical and concrete variables.

Ability to correctly complete tasks within the time allocated.

Ability to contribute in a team environment, maintain punctuality, attendance, and generally appropriate business conduct.
