What role you will play in our team

 

We are looking for candidates who are active, creative, and resourceful to work on ExxonMobil-operated rig sites (offshore and onshore) in a 28/28 on/off rotator role. Successful candidate will execute wells plans in accordance with work scopes while providing high-quality results to ExxonMobil's Operations Centre.

 

What you will do

 

  • Full adherence with the company's HSE policies, standards, and practices; participation in all on-site HSE events; promotes HSE standards in all wellsite formation assessment acquisition operations; contributes to organizational safety initiatives by reporting any abnormalities, optimizations, or lack of competence that might result in an HSE problem. 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities, oral and written communication skills, leadership and supervising capabilities, and the ability to operate and deliver under challenging and demanding situations.
  • Proficient in technical and practical knowledge; familiarity with various mudlogging services, LWD/MWD services, wireline services, drilling and coring operations; and understanding of the limits of various drilling and geological data obtained from high-end tools used on-site; proficient with sophisticated technology and IT.  
  • Actively participate in the detection and evaluation of subsurface geohazards (losses, gains, overpressure, etc.) through the analysis and integration of all available data-sets. 
  • Supervise geological activities including various well data acquisition (mudlogging, LWD/MWD, wireline logging, core, formation pressure testing and fluid sampling); validate data quality. 
  • Describe and report lithology from ditch cuttings and cores with the presence and absence of hydrocarbon shows in a prescribed format; capable of creating a complete composite log from the wellsite using industry standard software.
  • Supervise geological operations personnel and ensure that all equipment's provided by services partners are in line with the program/contracts; perform regular quality checks/calibrations/controls of all equipment and services provided.  
  • Performs quick look interpretation at the wellsite (quality, content) during or after a drilling phase to optimize operational choices. 
  • Monitor, witness operations and maintain good communication between all relevant parties to ensure safe operations at the wellsite; take on-site decision-making for casing, coring, intermediate logging, optimization of operational parameters, etc. in consultation with base Operations Geologist.
  • Prepare Comprehensive Daily Geological report and maintain approved flow of data to the operations center. 
  • Oversee the conditioning, labelling, and transportation of all rock and fluid samples acquired throughout the drilling process. 
  • Train and mentor next generation of wellsite geologists.

 

About You

Skills and Qualifications

 

  • Master’s degree from a recognized university in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering or Physics. 
  • 2 years of minimum industrial experience in wellsite geology and surveillance. 
  • Excellent communication abilities with all the stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to international travel involving time shift at site (office job, if required).

 

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

 

  • Technical skills in wellsite geology, drilling operations, mud logging, LWD/MWD, and wireline operations are required. 
  • Working knowledge of Petrel will be advantageous.

What you will do   1. Pore Pressure Prediction Specialist Responsibilities :     In consultation with ExxonMobil’s Operations Geology group in Houston, define project objectives, work scopes and deliverables Candidates will conduct applied project work integrating petrophysical data, basin modeling results, mudlogging, drilling mechanics, and geophysical data into assessments of pore pressure and stress state, ranging from wellbore specific (pre- and post-drilling) to basin-wide scale. Develop sub-regional scale 3D models of pore pressure and minimum stress to support multi-well development or production drilling operations. Where possible, leverage basin-scale pore pressure interpretation broadly to impact hydrocarbon systems assessment, trap/seal constraints.   2. Well Planning and Execution Specialist Responsibilities:   Consult in site investigation survey design, specification of appropriate field acquisition and data processing technologies, quality standards, and deliverables. Work with geotechnical and drilling engineers to design effective mooring and foundation (drill-well and production facility) plans Compile interpretive results into a Shallow Drilling Hazards Evaluation or Geohazards Assessment report, with supporting analysis, figures and maps. Recommend alternate drill-well surface locations as necessary to mitigate high-risk Geohazards; recommend need for jetting or drilling structural casing, pilot hole drilling, top-hole logging, weighted drilling mud, and shallow casing setting depths.   3. Well Planning and Execution Specialist Responsibilities: Design well pathways for permitted wells based on geological targets in collaboration with the geoscience team and service partners.  Work with a multidisciplinary team (Geoscience, Reservoir Engineering, Formation Evaluation, Pore Pressure Prediction, Site Investigation (Shallow hazards), Drilling, and Completions teams) to provide geological well prognoses for authorized wells.  Supervise and provide technical assistance to wellsite geological services (mudlogging, LWD/MWD, wireline, and coring), real-time data monitoring and interpretation. Maintain open communication with the wellsite geologists, project geologists, petrophysicists, drilling crews, and management teams. Working knowledge in Geosteering of horizontal wells for proper placement of wellbore within specific targets, in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary global technical team. Stream real-time LWD/MWD and azimuthal ultra-deep resistivity data into Petrel projects and make forward-looking well path scenarios using well designer tools. Assess and analyze all available data and communicate recommendations to geo-steer successful well trajectories   About You Skills and Qualifications   Master’s or PhD from a recognized university in Geology, Geophysics, Engineering or Physics. What role you will play in our team   The Primary role/function of the position of cost engineer is to prepare and/or review and endorse cost estimates of different levels of accuracy depending on the maturity of the project definition during the various stages of the project lifecycle.
