Are you looking for a Software Engineer to join a team of engineers and positively affecting the experience of every consumer who uses Microsoft products? The CIX (Consumer Identity Experiences) team in the Windows+Devices group is focused on building client experiences and services that light up Microsoft Account experiences across all devices and platforms. We are passionate about working together to build delightful and inclusive account experiences that empower customers to get the most out of what Microsoft has to offer. 

  

The CIX team is responsible for driving innovation for new marquee user interfaces used by Windows customers around the world.  We’re looking for a collaborative, inclusive and customer obsessed engineer to help us build the future of Windows Authentication experiences like Passkeys as well as engage with our customers by building experiences to help users keep their account secure and connected across multiple devices and applications.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to understand unfamiliar code bases, and debug server-side, multi-threaded, and highly scalable applications.
  • Experience in working with Windows system level programming and developing device drivers.
  • Experience with agile/scrum methodologies.
  •  Ability to communicate, both verbal and written, work well in diverse and global team- focused environment. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
    • OR related technical field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,
    • OR Python
  • Proven design and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on quality and engineering excellence. 

 

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer in CIX team, you will be responsible for using C++, WinRT and WinUI to develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions for Windows users. You will also be working in Identity platform in modules related to sign in and sign-up experiences, Multi-factor authentication and mechanism to keep the account more secure. 

  

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse and supportive group of Developers, Program Managers, UX Designers, AI/ML Scientists and User Researchers to deliver features that leverage AI technologies in an integrated and seamless user experience. You will have the amazing opportunity learn and grow by working closely with the architects and senior engineers who contribute to the overall technical vision and strategy of the “architectural how” of how we build a scalable architecture with great fundamentals (such as performance, power, reliability). You will have opportunity to partner with multiple teams in Windows, Office and Identity.

Experience with public cloud services including Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.   Responsibilities Contribute towards building the Azure Service Fabric platform that makes it possible for supporting multiple classes of applications accounting for application consistency, availability, and partition tolerance. Develop an understanding of Service Fabric orchestration and workflows in conjunction with platform level capabilities.
