Job description 

Job Description-

A person should be competent and have through knowledge for the following functions-

1. Material Science-Ferrous and Non-Ferrous

2. Metallurgy-Ferrous and Non-Ferrous

3. Welding Technology 

4. Surface Treatment (Nitriding, Hard facing, Chromizing, Carburizing etc)

5. Casting (Steel , Cast iron (Grey, nodular, White,  

6. Forging

7. Foundry practises

8. Welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW, FCAW)

9. Metal Working (Rolling, pressing, Bending, Cutting etc)

10. Heat treatment (Annealing, Normalizing, Stress reliving, Quenching) 

11. All types of Plate Raw materials (Steel, Alloy, Stainless steel-Austenitic and Martensitic)

12.  Awareness of raw material standards like -ASTM, ASME, ANSI, JIS, DIN, EN, GOST etc.

13. Awareness about WPS/PQR/WPQ/Documentation and Upgradation time to time basis.

14. Review and prepare material specification from the standards-Ferrous and Non-Ferrous

15. NDT processes (UT/PT/MT/RT)

16. Special process development (PTAW, AUTO TIG, LASER Welding,

17. Analyze, evaluate and interpret data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

18. Experience in failure investigation of welds.

19. Knowledge about various welding, brazing filler materials, and equipment

 

Qualifications-

  • At least 3-6 years of experience in material science and metallurgy
  • Strong knowledge of metallurgical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with different analytical techniques such as SEM, XRD, EDS, TEM, etc.
  • Experience of various testing processes (Tensile, hardness, Bend, Charpy Impact, Hot Tensile, Microstructure analysis, Macrostructure analysis, drop weight test, Nil-ductility test)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with other engineers and scientists.
  • Proficient in using software such as AUTOCAD, SolidWorks, etc.
  • Experience and Knowledge of heat treatment for Carbon steel, Medium / low alloy steels, martensitic stainless steels.
