Intern Operation Research  – Maintenance Operations Optimization
 
Job Description: We are looking for an Operations Research Intern to support and investigate optimization model strategies. 

Airbus intends to revolutionize the Aerospace world by leveraging cutting-edge digital technology to bring data from Aircrafts, Engines, MROs, etc., on a single platform called Skywise. 

The Skywise is capable of processing huge amounts of data with the state of the art algorithms in providing vital insights into Aircraft Systems' health, alerting Airlines of any impending Maintenance work, thus reducing the Aircraft on-ground times. The Skywise also provides solutions to the MROs in optimizing the highly complex and expensive maintenance operations, thereby producing savings in the overall maintenance costs.

Ultimately, you will assist in exploration activities related to optimization model development for Maintenance operations. 


Main activities

Domain knowledge in Operational Research built through resolution of concrete business problems

In-depth understanding and practical experience of constraint programming and linear


Programming

Identify the right kind of Artificial Intelligence/Operations Research/ Optimization technique to be implemented in a given task/project/ business situation

The candidate should be responsible for implementing, testing and validating the technique to produce the right results

Understanding of software development best practices, design concepts and principles

Knowledge of Aeronautic business (airlines, MROs...) would be a plus


Skills required

Good research skills, Advanced Python, and AI & Optimization Modeling techniques

Good hands-on experience with optimization solvers: IBM ILOG CPLEX, Local solver etc

Knowledge of constraint programming, mathematical programming and heuristic approach

Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Analytical bent of mind – collate, synthesize and analyze complex or diverse information skillfully and developing alternative solutions


Education qualification - B.Tech/M.Tech – Artificial Intelligence/ Operations Research/ Optimization/ 
                                                                  Industrial Engineering/ Computer Science  or equivalent
