Position Summary
The role of the research analyst is to be adaptive but methodical in applying analytical skills to the focus on the position. The research analyst will focus on the analysis of software providers to determine the merits of its product and customer experience to the methodology that will result in the ratings compared to other software providers. The ability to adapt across multiple research areas and focus of software providers enables an opportunity to learn about business applications to digital technologies while working with subject matter experts.
Position Description:
The ISG Research Analyst will be dedicated to business or technology software providers and aligned to the Buyers Guides that represent the categories for where enterprises use the research to develop long and short lists to making critical buying decisions. The role is expected to develop expertise in the areas assigned and be able to communicate with fellow team members and with software providers. The Analyst is expected to discover and learn through reading and watching about specific software providers. The research analyst will require strong analytical skills and ability to ascertain a point of view and determine the merits of the products from the software provider. The individual will have significant technology research experience, strong English writing and speaking skills, extensive experience in performing secondary research, and exceptional organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
· Support assigned research team and research director focus on Buyers Guides,
· Apply analytical skills to assessing software providers products and technologies.
· Successful execution of secondary research on topic of Buyers Guides
· Support lead analysts with collaborating on research results and ensuring quality.
· Excellent time management skills and ability to adapt to multiple projects with deadlines.
· Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results with minimum supervision,
Skills Required:
· 1 to 5 years of research experience preferably in enterprise software.
· Experience working on research related to software providers and technology.
· Ability to locate and analyze information from established and original sources.
· Ability to extract meaningful information and formulate a point of view based on analyzing software providers from provided or discovered internal and external sources.
· Excellent secondary research skills and analytical acumen.
· Analyze and interpret information from software provider and provide actionable insights
· Experience in report writing is a must.
· Ability to analyze quantitative and/or qualitative data to identify relevant findings.
· Advanced Excel skills and Power-Point skills.
· Must be highly skilled in time management to facilitate involvement in multiple projects.
· Must have excellent teamwork skills as well as be self-directed.
· Must have the ability to work independently and manage communications with senior executives.
· Ability to work on a flexible schedule, collaborating with both the US and European regions. Might occasionally require long work hours.
Education level and experience:
· Computer Science degree from recognized institutes preferably with MBA
· Overall good academic track-record
