What you’ll be doing:
You will be leading a growing team of nine engineers developing tools to enable the development of safety critical products. Specific responsibilities of the Manager of Functional Safety Tools role include:
Collaborate with team members on the architecture and design of tools and provide technical leadership on the implementation.
Assign projects and coordinate tool development activities and tool suite releases across team members.
Prioritize tool development activities to enable FMEDA execution by chip design/architecture and board safety teams.
Work with product development teams regarding the execution schedules and impacts of tool development prioritization decisions.
Work with hundreds of internal consumers across multiple teams to ensure that the tools and flows being developed will meet their needs.
Lead collaborations with EDA tool vendors, guide tool development and create specifications for new features/functionalities.
Contribute to safety analysis and fault injection methodology.
What we need to see:
Bachelors or Masters in CS/ EE with relevant experience in the related field,
10+ overall years of techno-managerial experience with a minimum of 4+ years of managerial experience in managing diverse teams (all inclusive)
Experience and proficiency in development of functional safety relevant hardware and systems
Solid understanding of chip design methodology
Proven excellence in communication and collaboration with other specialists to build high-quality solutions to complex problems.
Collaborative approach and strong problem-solving skills to work with leaders across organizational and technical domains.
Excellent software engineering skills and tools development experience.
Significant experience managing development teams and providing technical leadership.
Track record of identifying and realizing opportunities for automation.
Experience with development that supports basic quality management (e.g., ISO 9001)
Passion for extending your technical knowledge into new areas.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Extensive experience with execution of FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, and/or other functional safety analysis methods.
Experience developing and sustaining applications/tools through a full product life cycle, including long-term support.
Proven success mentoring and guiding the career development of junior engineers.
Knowledge of market specific standards for safety-critical systems (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508, etc.).
Experience architecting and developing functional safety tools as well as strong knowledge of Objected Oriented Python
