  • You will be working with the PRISM Applications & Infrastructure team to provide the infrastructure, tools, and services to enable Ciena R&D DevOps.

  • You will have end to end responsibilities from requirements to implementation and deployment.
  • Applying the latest industry technologies (Ansible, Enterprise Storage, Virtualization, Linux, Docker, Cloud) to develop and support in-house, open source, and commercial software.
  • Interacting with our highly skilled infrastructure team to provide solutions for our globally distributed product development teams.

The Must Haves:

  • Strong willingness to learn or experience in the following:
  • DNS, DHCP, Routing, TCP/IP, LACP, VLAN and general network concepts
  • LDAP, Microsoft Active Directory
  • NetApp Storage technologies including NFS, SMB and Object, CDOT, Snap Mirror, Snap Vault, FAS, Storage GRID, SolidFire and Flash based solutions
  • Virtualization technologies: VMWare, KVM, OpenStack
  • Dell Technologies, HP Rack and Blade servers, HP C7000/Synergy Chassis, Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager (VCEM), HP OneView
  • Deployment Technologies: Docker, OpenStack, Ansible, Kickstart
  • Operating Systems: Linux (administer, manage, patch, upgrade, security)
  • General knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud)
  • Backup and Replication technologies, on and off-site including cloud-based technologies.
  • Version Control Systems: Git
  • Programming Languages: Ansible, Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, PowerCLI
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL
  • Atlassian tools like Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence
  • Knowledge of large-scale data center architecture and implementation; appreciate the important aspects of running a 24/7/365 enterprise environment.

 

Education

  • B.S. degree computer science or related degree or relevant experience
  • 2+ years of system administration experience (Linux Environments)
