We are looking for someone to design Gas Turbine rotating and stationary components. You will need to meet design requirements while considering manufacturing, assembly, and service requirements. A strong understanding of design tools and CAD software is required. Experience in Gas Turbine component mechanical design is preferred.

Role & Responsibility:

• Responsible for designing Gas Turbine rotating & stationary components (e.g. blades & vanes, Rotor, Casings, combustions etc.) to meet full spectrum of design requirements (functionality, robustness, cost effectiveness, manufacturing requirements and technology, assembly requirements and service requirements)

• Development of innovative design solutions. Controls risk of design changes with appropriate methods like FMEA.

• Applies appropriate methods which focus on robust design, like tolerance stack up, GD&T, analysis, standards and design rules.

• Creates, evaluates, reviews and applies specifications and other technical documents, e.g. design philosophy, purchasing specification, working specification, drawings, BOM, MM, check lists, manufacturing data, standard part calculations and component description.

• Create/prepare/review 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings of individual/assembly, UG-NX model of Gas Turbine stationary and Rotating components. Tool experience in UG-NX will be preferred.

• Exposure & experience in model-based definition or PMI will be preferred

• Create, understand, review & modify manufacturing/assembly/fabrication drawings of Gas Turbine components. Create/review bill of material, Material Master, inspection specification of GT components as per SIEMENS standard practice.

• Act as a technical support towards workshops, procurement, and sites.

• Independently execute fault investigations.,

 

We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:

• Bachelor or master’s in mechanical design from recognized college/university

• At least 6 years of work experience with mechanical design in turbomachines. Experience in Gas Turbine component mechanical design will be preferred.

• Proficiency and experience in design tools, 3D CAD software UG-Nx, standard manufacturing process, standard fit & tolerances.

• Experience in product data management tools Teamcenter, PLM2020 and SAP.

• Experience in GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerances), tolerance stack up.

• Experience working with Pressure Equipment Directive, PED will be preferred.

• Proficiency and experience in creating/reviewing manufacturing/assembly/fabrication drawings of Gas Turbine components.

• Good understanding of bill of material, Material master, material specification etc.

• Strong inter-personal skill i.e. team player, quick learner, imaginative, innovative,

• Ability to adapt quickly & effectively etc.

• Basic mechanical integrity knowledge with ability to perform simple hand calculations.

• Hands on experience from mechanical workshops are considered to be beneficial.

• You are fluent in English both in speech and in writing.

Your new role - exciting and future-oriented: • Engineering support for the preparation of technical documentation of steam turbine outages for the installed fleet worldwide. This includes analysing global fleet experience, technical instructions, and recommendations. • Review unit-specific Product Change Management (PCM) data, record action points, and incorporate them into future outage plans. • Coordinating and consulting with Subject Matter Experts globally to compile OEM fleet experiences and specific recommendations for inclusion in unit-specific outage plans. • Support field service team with technical clarifications and relevant documentation during scheduled steam turbine maintenance, including periodic inspections and forced outages. • Effectively support unit data management and data upgrade/revision in engineering databases.   We don’t need superheroes, just super minds: • Bachelor’s/ Master's degree in engineering or related technical field from a reputed institute. • 5 to 8 years of experience in engineering support to Steam Turbine outages and maintenance. • Familiarity of power plants and general understanding of steam turbines, valves, bearings, associated components like condenser, seal steam system, lube oil system, drain system and other auxiliaries. • General understanding of scheduled steam turbine maintenance, including periodic inspections like minor, medium and major outages is considered an added advantage. • Experience with SAP, Teamcenter or other data management systems. • Effective communication skills (verbal, written and listening), a strong sense of teamwork and customer focus. • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance is essential. • Ability to interface directly with customer, field, factory personnel and management. • Ability to make quick, informed decisions on a regular basis. • Ability to manage multiple field issues / projects and meet deadlines.
