About the Job

• This full-time senior software engineering position will contribute to the software solutions related to High Frequency IC/Module schematic and/or physical design capture offered by Advanced Design System product—the Keysight PathWave Software Solutions business group’s flagship product.  The solutions range from design viewing and editing in 2D or 3D view, viewing and measuring simulation results, automating workflow, to specialized features enabling interoperability with other EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools and manufacturing processes.  Your contributions will have an immediate and direct impact on customers and their efficiency and effective use of Keysight’s software. 

• You will be a senior technical developer in the Research & Development department who determines and develops approaches to assignments involving solving a broad range of high impact problems of varying scope and complexity. You will lead research and development related projects using in-depth experience to influence results.  You will work closely with other functional areas such as Marketing, R&D, Quality Assurance, Learning Products, etc., within our business unit to understand the customer's design flow, and to provide whole-product solutions. 

• You will work on advanced packaging features (e.g. TSVs, CoWoS, etc.) and products for Chiplet (3DIC Heterogeneous Integration) market.  Implement new solutions that allow easy placement and movement of ICs in all dimensions.  You will engage with key commercial comms customers like Qualcomm, Qorvo, Murata, etc. and implement their requirements.

• You will conduct design reviews, usability testing and customer visits to validate requirements.  You will be a member of our agile development squad who continually adopts best practices in software engineering such as test-driven development, up-front design, code review, unit testing, etc. in our Agile Development Framework.

Job Qualifications

The requirements of this position are:

• A bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electric Engineering, Math, Software Engineering or equivalent field
• 6+ years in software development on Windows and/or Linux OS platforms

Critical skills required of this position are:

• Must be versed in OO design and modern C++ standards.
• Development experience with multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux).
• Proficient in compilers (Visual Studio, gcc), debuggers (Visual Studio, gdb) and performance profilers.
• Working knowledge of graphical user interface design.
• Working knowledge of graphics tools and libraries.
• The ability to determine and develop approaches to assignments independently.
• The ability to design, implement, test, and document a solution from a high-level requirement description.
• The ability to coordinate effectively with other team members or functions.
• The ability to solve a broad range of problems of varying scope and complexity.
• Demonstrated track record of being a versatile doer, a quick learner and a critical thinker.
• Proven leadership skills.

Additional desired skills:

• Knowledge of one or more of Keysight EDA products—e.g. ADS, SystemVue, GoldenGate, IC-CAP, EMPro, Genesys)
• Knowledge of other EDA tools from Cadence, Mentor or Synopsys
• RF and Microwave technical knowledge
• knowledge of semi-conductor industry
• Working knowledge of Python and its family of tools
