Job description 

Consumer & Industry:

  • Understand consumer segments, behavior, latent needs, value propositions through qualitative and quantitative research
  • Derive additional insights through analytics basis on-platform consumer behavior
  • Build creative expertise in the team to find differentiation opportunities and support content buy
  • Maintain a constant cadence of content buys & launches to support the category business objectives
  • Stay abreast of industry & competitive landscape in the category and identify trends, future growth areas

Strategy & Planning:

  • Define a content strategy to deliver the business goals for Tamil category
  • Identify key levers & initiatives to help achieve success (content, product, marketing, growth)
  • Work with cross-functional teams to move levers to help achieve success
  • Own the P&L for the category (Revenue, Content costs, CAC, OI)

Execution

  • Own key success metrics for the category (subs, engagement, retention)
  • Program manage content launches, relevant experiments, and interventions to improve performance
  • Drive cross-functional ‘virtual’ teams across analytics, growth, marketing, product, and Star (TV + Content) to deliver goals
  • Track & report the movement of key success metrics
  • Lead category reviews with leadership & support decision-making
  • Devise a feedback loop in the overall strategy based on ground performance

Skills & Attributes for success

  • Love content: A genuine passion for Tamil content. You should have a deep appreciation for storytelling, media, and the impact it can have on audiences
  • Curious: Curiosity is a key trait for success. You'll need to be naturally inquisitive, constantly seeking to understand audience preferences, emerging trends, and evolving market dynamics
  • Thinker: This role requires a strategic thinker who can analyze data, market trends, and consumer behavior. You'll be tasked with formulating content strategies that align with overarching business goals and make a meaningful impact
  • Opinionated but equally open to hearing other opinions: While having a clear point of view is valuable, it's equally important to be open-minded and receptive to different perspectives. Collaboration often leads to the best outcomes, so the ability to listen and incorporate diverse ideas is crucial
  • Like numbers: Having an affinity for working with numbers means you'll be comfortable interpreting analytics, measuring the success of your strategies, and making adjustments based on quantitative insights

Preferred Education & Experience

  • 6+ years of experience with a background in Strategy and consulting roles. Additional experience in content strategy or digital consumer businesses and data analysis is a plus
  • Preferred Qualification: MBA, preferably from Tier I/Tier II institutes
