Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

As LV Secondary Project Engineer, you will be responsible to lead your project team to deliver your LV secondary project scope, starting from Customer requirements capture till delivery of equipment to the customer. This includes the following activities:

  • Define and maintain scope for your project based on customer requirements.
  • Define and maintain the detailed Project Planning Smartsheet aligned with P6 plan.
  • Lead the team to deliver as per defined execution plan.
  • Define and maintain Risk Register and escalate high risks to project team.
  • Review planned hours, Cost-To-Completion hours vs Budgeted hours.
  • Adhere to the GE HVDC operation rhythm.
  • Follow the departments standard design practices, engineering reviews and guidelines.
  • Ensure resources plan in place.
  • Accountability on the On-Time-Delivery and say-do ratio KPIs for the project.
  • Raise Change Request when required following a budget deviation or a change of scope.
  • Report as per the defined operating mechanism the project progress, including achievements, budget status, risks review and resource plan, look ahead.
  • Represent LV Secondary team during the customer meetings and with GE partners.
  • Travel as needed to attend customer meeting, witness type testing in presence of customer.
  • Actively share and learn good practices and lessons learned to implement in the project for better project execution.
  • Interface with equipment supplier and reviewing in-house designs and those produced by external contractors and analyse a variety of engineering data, documents, and reports.
  • Support department Continuous Improvement activities.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronics/Electrical engineering or related field.
  • Strong experience in project management: planning, tracking, reporting.
  • Strong knowledge about Engineering Tools & Processes
  • Basic knowledge of LV secondary design, preferably in substation/power plant environment.
  • Strong analytical & critical thinking mindset
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Availability to travel ~10% of time

Job Description Essential Responsibilities The present role will focus on identified actions, such as: 1) Preparing and reviewing complex reports, proposals and presentations to clients in the following areas:  HV Power systems analysis – Load flow, fault levels, dynamic performance, transient analysis, harmonics assessments, induction studies, insulation coordination studies;  Protection Relay coordination study; 2) Power systems & Network studies includes, but not limited to, the following, Grid connection study for Renewable generation includes Solar Farms, Offshore Wind Farms, Hybrid system on Power factory (DIGSILENT) which mainly includes Reactive Power Compensation, Harmonic, Flicker, Dynamic studies, and other relevant studies as per the Grid Code of different country. Insulation Coordination studies including, but not limited to, Electromagnetic Transient studies e.g. Lightning & Switching studies, temporary high voltage studies, Very fast transient studies, TRV & RRRV studies etc on PSCAD, Performing Reliability & Availability studies (RAM studies), system modelling on study tool e.g. Reliasoft and Report preparation Load Flow Analysis, Short Circuit Analysis & Relay coordination study (HV/MV/LV breaker settings), Arc flash analysis, Power factor correction study on ETAP, MV & LV Cable sizing on CANECO software etc. Experience and conceptual understanding of FACTs, HVDC and filter design. In charge to develop design template based on international standard (IEC, IEEE, Cigre), with supporting documents including training material.
