Job Description

General responsibilities:

  • Execute & analyse, design, test, or integrate required to define and support systems that meet business standards and project requirements.
  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers for necessary approvals. Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific projects assigned.
  • Share engineering information and promote open dialogue.
  • Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business.
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

Specific Role Requirements:

  • Design engineering of Steel structures for HV substation/switchyard e.g., girders, gantries, tower, and support structures (Lattice/Pipe type) for yard equipments.
  • Preparation of Structural layout, Single Line Diagram of structures, checking of detailed fabrication drawing before submission to customer etc.
  • Proto inspection, correction requirement arises during proto stage, BOM preparation.
  • Interface with Electrical engineering team to get timely input in standard interface format.
  • Responsible to produce highly optimized & technically correct document e.g., usage of appropriate combination of MS and HT steel members to ensure overall profitability. 
  • Co-ordination and integration with Electrical engineering, foundation engineering, vendor/supplier.
  • Co-ordination project management, site & SCM.
  • Flexible and quick learner.
  • Knowledge of Indian Standards and international standards codes, industrial practice, safety by design/EHS aspects, AC substation engineering practices. 
  • Estimation skill is an essential requirement and should be able to provide accurate estimation during tender stage.

Additional requirement.

  • Should have performed the design of switchyard structures independently for atleast 2-3 projects.
  • Competency on specialized tools like STAAD/Revit.
  • Good command on 3-D design tools and hands on experience with 3D drafting Tools.
  • Understanding of interface aspects i.e., electrical, and mechanical aspects that decides/impact the Civil design.
  • Aligning the action to meet project schedule. 

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent, from an accredited college or university with a minimum 6-10 years of experience on project engineering. Post graduation in Structure will be an added advantage.

Essential Pre-Requisites and Deliverables:

  • To be able to work on standard IT Tools for the everyday deliverables to the level of competency expected out of the role.
  • Proficient in use of MS Office / well worse with MS excel & Mathcad calculation tools.
  • Exhibit Ownership; deliver shared responsibilities with team working.
  • Proactive chaser for input to ensure on time deliverables.
  • Innovative and process oriented.
  • Exposure to QMS driven engineering processes.

Job Description Essential Responsibilities The present role will focus on identified actions, such as: 1) Preparing and reviewing complex reports, proposals and presentations to clients in the following areas:  HV Power systems analysis – Load flow, fault levels, dynamic performance, transient analysis, harmonics assessments, induction studies, insulation coordination studies;  Protection Relay coordination study; 2) Power systems & Network studies includes, but not limited to, the following, Grid connection study for Renewable generation includes Solar Farms, Offshore Wind Farms, Hybrid system on Power factory (DIGSILENT) which mainly includes Reactive Power Compensation, Harmonic, Flicker, Dynamic studies, and other relevant studies as per the Grid Code of different country. Insulation Coordination studies including, but not limited to, Electromagnetic Transient studies e.g. Lightning & Switching studies, temporary high voltage studies, Very fast transient studies, TRV & RRRV studies etc on PSCAD, Performing Reliability & Availability studies (RAM studies), system modelling on study tool e.g. Reliasoft and Report preparation Load Flow Analysis, Short Circuit Analysis & Relay coordination study (HV/MV/LV breaker settings), Arc flash analysis, Power factor correction study on ETAP, MV & LV Cable sizing on CANECO software etc. Experience and conceptual understanding of FACTs, HVDC and filter design. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities As LV Secondary Project Engineer, you will be responsible to lead your project team to deliver your LV secondary project scope, starting from Customer requirements capture till delivery of equipment to the customer. Job Description Your Role: Working together with the Document Controller to ensure that the administration of the documents is properly organized and handled. Working together with the offices responsible to ensure that all local contracts from the site are awarded only to demonstrably qualified suppliers and/or that appropriate preventive actions are taken to eliminate weak points. Prepare and agree audit schedule. Working together with the Site Management to ensure that the material handling manager, assembly and commissioning staff responsible check all incoming shipments for damage in transit and completeness of shipment. Checking the contractors I&T plans, approved FQP and associated procedures for their work at the Site and acting via the Site Manager, advising any corrections required. Monitoring to make certain that the inspection and testing during assembly and commissioning are conducted, documented, checked, approved, and documented as prescribed in the I&T Plans and the Approved FQP and that the testing status is readily identifiable. Acting according to agreement with the Site Management in organizing and supervising acceptance testing and/or approval by customers and governmental authorities. On assignment from the Site Management, ensuring that documents (Q records and red correction copies) are updated and submitted to the technical responsible offices according to the standards. Take part in Site Induction Quality Training for all quality tools & Process & active participation in Kaizen event at site.
