Job description Job Details: Job Summary: As part of the Global Operations Team, the Network Team Leader will be responsible for leading a team of engineers organized by subject matter expertise. Building & maintaining a cohesive, energized team working alongside a complicated set of geographically dispersed stakeholders including management, technology architects and technology staff to assist in the lifecycle of new client services, from design and development, through to implementation and on-going support. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Supervision of the Global Operations Network team and any strategic or HR responsibilities that may be required as part of the management of those teams. Ensure the team adhere to best practices whilst promoting teamwork and clear communication to achieve workload prioritization Monitor, maintain and support to ensure assigned systems are delivered on time and within budget Responsible for undertaking performance management initiatives and assessment Manage and maintain assigned systems or services in production and pre-production environments Contribute to the technical strategy and procedures for the teams being managed and the wider IT function whilst ensuring team objectives are aligned with the business objectives as set by senior management Ensure the team can adequately support the systems within the Team’s control Ensure that the departmental and company processes are followed (e.g. change control process) Work with Solution Architects, Infrastructure Architects and Project Management to ensure that all designs are fit for purpose, supportable, and deliverable Take the lead on assigned Network projects ensuring they are well planned and delivered on time and within budget Contribute to the training and awareness of current and new staff Ensure that incidents, service requests, and changes assigned to the team are received and resolved within SLAs Attend meetings relating to the specification, implementation or operational on-boarding of new systems or services May be required to work on other Cubic sites Act as a point of escalation for incidents both in and outside of working hours Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them Minimum Job Requirements: A university degree in a numerate subject (e.g. Computer Science, Maths, Engineering) with 5-7 years of experience. Current Cisco Certified Network Professional qualification or a recognized equivalent. Significant experience in an IT Network technical position. Show a wider understanding across the ‘Infrastructure’ support landscape, including Cloud technologies. Full lifecycle management of - will contribute to, and ensure adherence to the development, communication and implementation of a clear strategy. Substantial experience fault finding in complex system and network infrastructures. Proven track record of customer liaison and fault management with experience in a support and / or NOC environment. Experience of working in an ITIL controlled environment. Experience of working under pressure in a dynamic and fast-moving technical environment. Previous management experience. Experienced with Cisco Branch and Edge Routers Cisco Datacentre, SAN fabric and Campus LAN Switches, including Nexus 5-7K Cisco Adaptive security and IDP appliances F5 Local and Global load-balancers Juniper (JUNOS) Firewalls Web Application or Next generation firewalls (Barracuda, Palo alto or similar) Ethernet, MPLS, DSL, Leased lines, ISDN DHCP, Dynamic DNS/BIND, SNMPv3, ACS, Radius/TACACS+, Fibre networks deployment and standards Cisco-Works LMS, Solarwinds Orion (or similar), Netflow collection and analysis. Probes, packet sniffers, cable analysers Personal Qualities Excellent attention to detail and an unfaltering desire to deliver exceptional service Customer focused and comfortable with dealing with executive level managers Culturally fluent and able to engage people from a range of backgrounds and cultures Able to juggle multiple tasks with deftness and attention to deadlines. Strong analytical and influencing skills to assess demand for change and ensure that the necessary controls are in place to deliver successfully An enthusiasm for new technologies and their application for both business and consumers A natural curiosity and a passion for learning new skills.
