We are looking for an NFR Architect to manage the Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) for our Magnum suite of Products. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis, defining NFR objectives, planning for NFR aspects, executing NFR testing, optimizing systems, and capacity planning. Additionally, you will collaborate with architects and engineers to design infrastructure and systems, review application configurations, and implement NFR performance monitoring. We require a Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, strong technical analysis and modelling skills, and expertise in performance frameworks and cloud architectures.

Key Responsibilities 

As an NFR architect you are responsible for managing the NFRs for overall Magnum suite of Products. This includes 

  • Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of systems, products, software's, or service to identify bottlenecks, potential issues, and areas for improvement in NFR areas Usability, Reliability, Scalability, Availability, Maintainability and Portability 
  • Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to define Non-Functional requirements and objectives for products and services 
  • Planning: Create and plan for addressing the NFR aspects as part of the architecture and design (i.e. availability, scalability , Usability etc..) 
  • Testing: Develop and execute NFR testing strategies, including load testing, stress testing, accessibility, availability and scalability testing, to assess system performance under various conditions 
  • Tuning: Optimize systems or products or services by fine-tuning configurations, designs, code, and infrastructure to enhance performance and reduce resource usage and costs 
  • Capacity Planning: Predict and plan for future capacity requirements based on data analysis and expected growth, ensuring that systems can handle increased loads 
  • Bottleneck Identification: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, which could be related to hardware, software, network, or database components 
  • Design Infrastructure /Cloud Architectures: Collaborate with architects and engineers to design infrastructure and systems that can meet performance and scalability requirements under cloud environments  
  • Review: Review application configurations, code, CI/CD architectures to identify and rectify performance, maintainability, related issues and recommend best practices 
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Implement NFR performance monitoring and alerting systems to track the real-time performance of systems against the NFRs and respond quickly to issues 
  • Provides architecture and application design that ensures scalability and minimizes performance issues. 
  • Responsible for capacity estimation/ planning, modelling, monitoring, 
  • Analysing and recommending solutions to performance problems with enterprise business products and solutions. 
  • Plan and manage deliverables for performance diagnostic, capacity planning, performance architecture design, performance tuning, and performance monitoring. 
  • Conduct system performance and stress testing, analyse test results and suggest action plans. 
  • Analyses competitive products and technologies and makes appropriate suggestions (may use demos, POCs) to influence product / technology direction 
  • Should have experience working directly with customer, product team and with CoEs. 
  • Hands on Experience in designing various Performance Frameworks 
  • Possess in- depth knowledge of multiple performance tools (Load Runner/ Jmeter / VSTS / NeoLoad, etc.), web testing, frameworks and infrastructure  
  • Experience in working High performance products, environments on Cloud and On/Prem 
  • Evaluate and analyse features and design concept and logical specifications for all layers of product through collaboration with business, Product Owner, Architect 
  • Expertise in working with Cloud based Product development on Azure or AWS Cloud offerings 
  • Understanding of the Cloud service offerings, tools and frameworks for addressing the NFRs 
  • Make tech recommendations of capabilities which could be used to achieve product vision or reduce technical debt or deliver designs targeting to desired cloud architectures 
  • Ensure compliance with Enterprise Architecture and IT governance policies of the organization for implementation of specific solutions, integration with other systems and the external interfaces 
  • Validate vendor responses, conduct technology assessments, and review proposals of 3rd party solutions to determine appropriate integration approach 

 

Your Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor's degree level or equivalent in computer science or related field, Master's is a plus. 
  • 15+ years of experience in technical analysis and modelling. Familiar with technical architect modelling language and tool such as UML and EA 
  • Strong experience designing and implementing Micro Service architecture using 12 app principles using Spring, Spring boot and Azure cloud. 
  • Strong experience in designing Multi-Tenant SaaS Product on Cloud (Azure). 
  • Good experience in handling solutions/applications on-prem and cloud environment. 
  • Experience in working with UI, Mobile and Java based services development 
  • Experience in designing systems for NFRs, performance test strategy and test plan. 
  • Strong background in design and implementation of external services integrations (using REST, SOAP and/or Middleware) 
  • Strong experience with multiple full lifecycle software development processes, approaches and methods (SCRUM). 
  • Expertise in handling Web application architectures, web services architectures, Relational & non-relational data storage specific, Web application front-end and/or back-end architecture for NFR 
  • Experience in handling Multi Channel, Multi Lingual applications. 
  • Solution cross-cutting concerns (Security, monitoring, caching, etc.). 
  • Strong understanding of Mission critical application architecture design, Scalable application architecture design and High-performance application architecture design. 
  • Strong expertise in Architectural styles, Enterprise architecture patterns, integration patterns, Development patterns, Architecture artifacts and deliverables and release management processes. 
  • Leadership and good communication skills. 
  • Broad technical knowledge and hands-on experience in handling services/solutions based on Java/J2EE, Spring, Node.js, ORM frameworks, RDBMS (MSSQL, Postgres) and Pl/SQL 
  • Exposure working with No-Sql data base like MongoDB. 
  • Familiar with  Azure Devops, Terraform and Kubernetes architectures 
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps (Repo, Pipeline, Deployments) or any other CICD process 
  • Experience working with build tools like Maven, Gradle, NPM and ANT. 
  • Experience in debugging performance issues using JProfiler and working experience APM products like Dynatrace, JMeter and Blaze meter 
  • Experience in mentorship and working with multi-cultural technical team spread across locations and contracted partners

  • Proficient in English (written and spoken). 
  • Domain knowledge of underwriting process or Life insurance business is a plus
