Job description 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

This is a temporary role for 10 months as a leave of absence (LOA) cover. Your broad responsibilities will range across a variety of key dimensions.

You will provide Human Resources support for colleagues in INO, understand and communicate with colleagues on people policies and procedures as necessary. You will play a front-line role in answering HR questions and escalate issues as needed.

You will independently manage efforts such as Onboarding (e.g., Day One experience of all new firm members) and offboarding/exits; HR event ownership and administration of programs as appropriate (e.g., role change, rotations, internal transfers, alternative programs – flex.). You will manage workflow on the People database, handle member queries and manage member relations.

You will be responsible for administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, life insurance, short- and long-term disability etc.

You will closely work with HR specialists and payroll team on benefits administration directly linked to payroll including car/home loans, Voluntary Parental Insurance, leave management including unpaid LOAs etc. You will respond to benefits inquiries from colleagues on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, claim issues, status changes and other general inquiries. You will assist colleagues in making informed decisions.

You will help enroll colleagues on benefits plans and process life status changes. You will ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS (People Central) to provide with accurate eligibility information. You will perform quality checks of benefits-related data.

You will process and administer all leave-of-absence requests including maternity/paternity and short term / long term disability paperwork and approvals and manage personnel data with an audit mindset.

You will be expected to regularly update and maintain HR data including personnel files (both hard copy and soft copy on People database).

You will be accountable for HR standards, data and otherwise, maintain and provide data for HR Audits. You will provide necessary reports for annual compliance and returns/reporting to government.

You will manage contracts and relationship with external vendors and agencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years' relevant experience with a Bachelor's/Masters’ degree or equivalent 
  • Preferred experience in independently driving personnel related processes for a large team/business/organization 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse range of people in a fair and consistent manner. Ability to foster excellent working relationships with stakeholders 
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills; ability to manage through ambiguity 
  • High levels of comfort with database and reporting tools e.g. MS Excel. Exposure to working on large HRIS systems and ability to handle large volume of data crunching and analysis 
  • Ability to adhere to the highest professional standards. Integrity, maturity and fairness in dealing with upholding confidentiality of information 
  • A strong combination of attention to detail, process-excellence and result-orientation, with the ability to multi-task
  • Non-hierarchical approach; ability to work individually and as part of a team
