OVERVIEW of the ROLE

The Engineering Excellence Lead oversees the Regional engineering program, ensuring building systems run efficiently, safely and cost-effectively as sites managed by JLL on behalf of the client. The Engineering Excellence lead is also accountable for achieving excellence in critical environment maintenance management program at client’s premise, ensuring the highest standards of engineering are delivered and best practices implemented at site level. The Engineering Excellence Lead is to provide comprehensive engineering and critical environment governance at Client sites, with a focus on continuous engineering improvement, savings through innovation, and risk mitigation in operations and projects delivery.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership
    • Lead by example in demonstrating engineering governance excellence and by achieving maximum client satisfaction
    • Ensure that campus engineering staff are qualified and trained to perform the duties they are expected to carry out
    • Provide technical advice and guidance for FM and project teams as required
    • Uplift the capability of FM teams by providing training on a regular basis
  • Client/Stakeholder Management
    • Manage key clients effectively to ensure that expected service levels are achieved in engineering
    • Build strong working relationships with key clients, promoting JLL’s service excellence; provide a key linkage between the wider JLL organization and the client representative and account team as required
    • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure smooth delivery of programs, procedures, and projects
  • Procurement & Vendor Management
    • As required, review the maintenance/service practices of M&E contractors to deliver quality work practices in line with the manufacturer recommendations, established processes, tools and documentation
    • Review budgets for engineering and hard services contracts as required
    • Review M&E cost components of projects, advising on modifications to pricing as required
  • Risk Management
    • Ensure alignment and compliance to established Policies and Standard Operating Procedures for the management of the client’s Critical Environment (CEM)
    • Ensure proper engineering documentation and adherence to the established change management controls for all sites
    • Protect the health and safety of staff and others by adhering to and developing guidelines and strategies
    • Conduct audits to ensure that all safety procedures, including disaster recovery and business continuity plan and escalation procedures are in place and maintained
    • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations on fire, health and safety standards
    • Adhere to Jones Lang LaSalle’s business ethics conduct by ensuring compliance with the firm’s guidelines, procedures and strategies

 

 

  • Reporting  to  Global Engineering Operations
    • Be prepared to report to the Global Engineering Lead on all campus Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and process related engineering installations, as well as on civil works pertaining to client facilities throughout the region
    • Provide M&E governance of projects to ensure adherence to engineering best practice and mitigation of risk and be prepared to report to regional project and engineering governance on the same as required
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the account’s innovation program and processes to reduce utility costs, increase productivity and savings
  • Continuous optimization of processes, tools and documentation
  • Contribute to achieving account glidepath savings, HX and innovation targets

Ideal Experience

  • Formal engineering certification (Electrical/Mechanical/Process) with deep familiarity in non-core areas, ideally in a laboratory environment
  • A minimum of 10 years of technical (and supervisory) experience in building engineering or the equivalent preferred
  • Proven success in the leadership and management of an extensive engineering team
