Experience you’d be expected to have
MANDATORY
- Experience in Kafka administration.
- Ability of analytical thinking.
- Ability to deal with difficult situations and work under pressure.
- Ability to work as a team member with collaborative thinking.
- Planning and Organizing Skills
- Expert in upgrading, migrating and patching Kafka.
PREFERRED
- Knowledge of TV and Broadcast systems and tools
- As minimum 2 years of experience working as Kafka administrator.
- Experience in virtual machines systems such as VMware and containerized systems such as Docker/Kubernetes.
The skills you’ll need to succeed
• Story-telling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences
• Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)
• Kafka - A background in designing, building and supporting Kakfa technology

What you’ll be doing
• Administer and manage Kafka clusters for On-Prem Kafka infrastructure and Confluent Cloud.
• Ensure support availability during agreed business hours.
• Responsible for maintaining the availability, performance and security of Kafka infrastructure.
• Upgrading Kafka following best practices
• Monitor logs, metrics, and troubleshoot issues to maintain optimal cluster health.
• Responsible for issue reporting and suggesting solutions to frequently occurring issues.
• Help support Kafka plugins, connectors, and applications as needed.
• Ensure knowledge sharing and documentations.
• Integrate with the team.
• Proactively and reactively fixing issues
