Why this job matters
The QA Engineering Professional supports the critical testing activities for a portfolio of products and services, following best practice standards for test quality, resource planning and issue resolution, in alignment to business strategy and requirements. Working in this role you will play a critical part in the operation of the BT Enterprise SRE & QA function. In Enterprise Quality Assurance team, we advocate for Quality across all the phases. As a Test professional for a specific domain within the in the Enterprise unit, the responsibility includes - right level of sizing & scoping for requirements for the product, formulate the test strategy and planning, identification of correct tools for performing testing, documents the risk and mitigation measures, track & monitor the progression of deliverables, drives automation across the phases of QA, tracks the QA efforts within the defined test points.
Working as part of a team of highly skilled specialists, you will play a vital role in creating capabilities that enable the QA function to deliver its commitments across Enterprise business Unit within the stipulated timeline. Will work closely with the Requirement leads/Business stakeholders, Solution Design, Engineering, Delivery & Inlife teams to ensure we deliver the requirements into production with Quality as per agreed milestone.
What you’ll be doing
1. Undertakes first level diagnostics, diagnosing defects against components using techniques and tools defined in the test strategy, identifies defects against the correct component in multi-component journeys, writes test specifications and test designs (scripts) and runs the test scripts to time cost and quality
2. Supports the full lifecycle integration testing to support project deliverables
3. Supports the team within its defined area to develop reports on accuracy, quality and errors in test diagnosis against the associated business or customer KPI's
4. Executes automation, functional, regression and load testing scenarios, applying solutions that validate the functionality of applications
5. Supports the maintenance of test suites and ensures high-velocity, high-quality production pushes using manual tests
6. Supports the communication of complexities of internal systems to help test against known issues
7. Assesses and suggests ways to mitigate risks that have an impact on the quality of products and services
8. Supports in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within the area of QA engineering responsibility
